I am so obsessed, it's not funny. I kept thinking about this drama at random intervals all day and when I think that, since it's just airing, I can't marathon it rabidly, I get a hollow feeling at the pit of my stomach. We finally meet the adult versions of Woori and Dong Joo in ep 5 and both Hwang Jung Eum and Kim Jae Won take over seamlessly - the transition is wonderfully done and it doesn't hurt that the child actor for Dong Joo looks freakishly like KJW, but more importantly than that, they get the vibe right.

It's Woori's 'magic' bag! loved the transition from child!DJ to grown-up!DJ (side note - I think his mom is insane. If your recently traumatized and recently deaf kid is having emotional fits, get him a shrink. Don't drag him off to the edge of a cliff to throw him and yourself off. That's not the way to get him to talk. I mean, yeah, he'll probably speak up. He'll also probably need decades of therapy due to your psycho behavior).

Woori with her doofy friend. She puts up with him, which is more than I would do, but he's amusing. And buff.

Why so pretty, KJW? Honestly, since he's out of the military, he's got to be at least 32, but I can't believe it - KJW looks ridiculously boyish.

I repeat. GUHHHHHHHHHH. I'd learn sign language for you! :)

I actually like how they are using KJW's famous smile here - he sort of uses it as a defense mechanism and self-mockery to cover all the mess inside. Which is very clever of them to turn KJW's trademark inside out, so to speak. (I also feel awful for DJ, who was such a sweet, normal, well-adjusted kid, and now has all these issues and is sort of a total mess, in a very contained way).

Only in a kdrama would a woman be making this face because she thinks the man is her stepbrother! LOLOLOL (Yes, first time she sees him as grown-up, she assumes he's her missing stepbro because he has some of the same mannerisms due to living with said stepbro).

Defense mechanism:

He gets in trouble because he runs into a car, not hearing it. And then the violent angry man starts grovelling when he finds out whose son he is. Therapy, DJ, go get it!

In conclusion, does he remember/has he told anyone about stepdad being a murderer? I am confused.
