Too much scheming is baaaaad

dangermousieOK, am on ep 11 of Schemes of a Beauty and find myself in an odd position of enjoying the drama without being emotionally invested.
Probably because I dislike every female character in this because they are all duplicitous, scheming, power-hungry, and use people in their lives and the male characters aren't prominent enough to compensate (and plenty of them are schemers too).
I mean, I can't really ship an OTP if one half of it is using the other to further her spying schmes, specially since they are spies for Devil Incarnate (speaking of, I am confused what happened to Empress Lu's son. She killed the impostor and said Empy was dead but what did the real Emperor do?). Seriously. Just no. Though that doesn't mitigate my desire to stab heroine's husband in the eye. Sure, you guys have a fight and you are mad at her because you think she used you, so without giving her a chance to explain you send her to a Buddhist monastery for a while? Frell you. It's one thing if he knew she was a spy but he doesn't. ETA: oh, it was a ruse to protect her on his part. OK, then.
Blah, they should all drown, except assassin/general even though assassin is using him so I am currently not too keen on her either.
I like this less than JPLH or FWC because it doesn't have any characters I truly root for.
