"I'll be your guitar."

I am exactly halfway through Taiyou no Uta and it's official - this is likely the best romantic jdrama I have ever seen. Better than Tatta Hitotsu no Koi. Better than Itoshi Kimi E. Better than Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake. Better than Majo no Jouken. Possibly better than Aishteiru to Itte Kure and Pride (romance-wise, not overall, of course). This is so so so SO good, you guys! It's every thing I wanted in a drama, not knowing I did. And the best part it's all so wistful and understated while being swoonily romantic at the same time.
She's found out her nervous system is deteriorating and she can't play any more and all she wants is to die so she goes hiding and he goes out of his mind looking for her.

And then she works herself up so much she doesn't even want to wait for the sun and tries to walk in and drown...but he won't let her.

Best drama confession of love EVER. I especially love that he says it as a matter-of-course, as if it's the most obvious thing out there, even as he's terrified out of his wits that he may lose her to her suicide wish.

O-M-G. I especially love it that she has no idea he can even play (he lied and told her he threw away the guitar she found three years ago because he was terrible at playing). O-M-G.

And he proves to her he can play (and amazingly well too - he basically plays pitch-perfect the tune he only heard her play once).

Seriously, problems breathing.

Have another MV. This one is that rarity-of-rarities, unspoilery.
