dangermousie: (Silence look by winterspel)

Am back home after a long long flight (not as bad as the flight there, except for the middle-aged man next to me who kept periodically snorting. Perhaps he thought he was a horse).

I want to be back in Japan! I have loved the entire trip beyond reason, but I have especially fallen in mad, hopeless, write-mushy-letters kind of love with Tokyo. It is bar none, by favorite city so far. Also, everyone back home seems style-less and drab now :P

Went to an onsen last night which was delightful. Very what Roman baths must have been like, with more hot water things than you could imagine (there was one that even had some sort of milky thing), both indoor and outdoor. And outside was a common area where both men and women (baths themselves are separated by gender as everyone is starkers in them) wander around in their yukatas (robes you are mandated to wear inside), and can have dinner, play games, or watch entertainment. Quite neat. We also took the driverless train across the river to get there and it was beautiful.

I am also excited by my Silence OST. It has a fancy fancy box and inside, beside the CD is a thick glossy booklet entirely in Chinese but it has gorgeous pics. And there is a bunch of postcards, which I am not mailing but hoarding! Because they have Vic Chou or OTP in various scenes or promos, all the while with Vic looking hotter than it should be possible for a human to look (though I have been in Tokyo for too long when first thought when I see a shot of his carrying her is 'but it's wrinkling his suit!)

Everyone seems to be doing dorama rec posts (check out [livejournal.com profile] scottishlass's here: http://scottishlass.livejournal.com/165265.html), so I need to do mine. Soon.

But first, I need to upload the seven billion pics I have taken on the trip.

When does Supernatural S2 premiere?

Good to have you back! I love the whole driverless train technology, but I'll admit that I'm a little freaked out by the thought of riding a vehicle without someone, you know, steering. I always go a little (okay, a LOT) CD-crazy whenever I'm in Asia, because they have all the drama soundtracks and other albums that I would totally have to pay import prices for back here in the States. Have you noticed that CDs and DVDs in Asia always come with way cooler goodies? There is usually fancier packaging and VCDs with music videos and all sorts of other things.

Also, I'm on episode 5 of "Silence" and am upset by the fact that Vic's hotness has made him terminal.

Welcome back.
I know what you mean about Tokyo, I was there once in 1991 due to my work back then. It was Bladerunner, Ghost in the machine and Manga rolled into one.

Looking forward to the pictures :)

Heeee. Actually, I am going to be less posty than usual this week (workwise things are going to be nuts and I am also moving) but I plan to make up for it when I have spare minutes in the evenings :P

That's true. I always wonder 'how is it going to stop?' But we didn't fall off into the ocean, so I am ok.

I know, the packaging is great.

Re: Vic's terminalness. Hey, apparently he is going to prove the literal truth of 'too hot to live!'

I know, it's unreal how cool that city is. Futuristic and fun and everything.

And Mars icon! Yay!

Welcome back, welcome back. :D Once again, glad you had a safe flight! lol @ the snorting guy. Man I've been seated next to some very weird people on flights before. Including the latest one which was a man who was very large & very sweaty & who had SOMEHOW snuck his dog onto the plane and I apparently was the only person who knew about it. Good lord. :|

Well, I am way behind on my flist, and while I did have a quick skim of your photos from Japan, I told myself I'd return to comment, and now I can't find them! *cries*.

So I just wanted to say that you posts on your trip were fascinating, and your pics wonderful. I want to go! *whines*

Welcome home!
