This scene was pure heaven. I love that she broke into his place to ask him to kill her but she doesn't really want that - it's her railing out at her inability to stop loving him whatever he does and trying to hurt him and deal with it, too. She does not deal well outside of clearcut lines of right and wrong and there is nothing clearcut about YK except, ironically, his love for her. Ahhh, they are both so messed up.
Kids, didn't you go through a similar conversation a few eps ago? But I can totally see why they need to rehash it over and over.
Since I had ep 48 open for checking, I cheated and watched the incredible Guo Jing/Yang Kang scene and then the even better Yang Kang/Mu Nianci scenes. I totally sniffled like a maniac. Warning: the picspam below is spoilery for ep 48!
Scene 1. Guo Jing trying to talk sense into YK on the battlefield as YK begs to be killed.
And then he knocks him out after stopping his attempt to kill himself, to give him time to come to his senses. Go, GJ! Side note - that is one way to learn that you are a father, YK! Though I am not sure whether it fully sank in because of his reaction in the below scene. Yup, he finally comes home, like he promised, and Nianci is there, like she promised. And there is a baby, and your truly was totally crying like the sap that she is.
My sniffles continued during this scene. Fate, leave them alone, dammit! (Another side note - I really like the take LOCH has on revenge - at best it's a necessary but unpleasant duty and at worst a dark, bad idea which will spiral you into a rabbit hole of awfulness. Not a 'yay, vengeance' approach at all).
