dangermousie | Arya - where the hero rescues puppies and the other guy beats up passerby. Can the heroine choose?

I am about 15 minutes into Telugu superhit Arya and I love it to bits!

Here is our story:

Our heroine, Geeta, is a sweet, traditional girl who, at the start of a movie, drops her anklet into the ocean, some guy dives in for it and, alas, doesn't surface. Geeta is faced with the fact that somebody she doesn't know may have died for her and that she also lost a bitching piece of jewelry.

Fast-forward to the start of the college year when Ajay, the Big Man on Campus, also with a Politician Daddy and his own gang, falls for Geeta. Ajay has such charming traits as punching random people out, dropping his cigarettes into passerbys' coffee and catcalling random girls. He decides the best way to convince Geeta to give him a chance would be to threaten suicide if she doesn't tell him she loves him. This may sound ridiculous but one cannot blame Ajay - in many a Bollywood movie that is the behavior of the OTP! In fact, I was worried Ajay WAS her OTP!

Never fear, for after Geeta disappointedly muses whether this is all there is to love we are introduced to our hunky hero Arya. Whose introduction is to rescue a puppy for a bunch of children! While getting gloriously muddy and wet and breaking into some truly sexy dancing!

Later, after he falls madly for the heroine, he will apparently do things like beat up gangs of thugs for her sake, rescue her from her spineless fiance and evil in-laws, and attempt to get her the wedding of her dreams even if it's to another man. He also doesn't have a hideous pornstache. I know who I'd pick!

Oh, and of course the anklet comes up again. Guess whether Mr. Dreamboat has got it. Guess.

I approve.

Alas, I had to go to bed but I plan to continue tomorrow.
