I am sort of obsessed with Friday Night Lights - I am on episode 9 already and the best part is Mr. Mousie and I have the best time together watching it.

So good. I have to say, I find Lyla most interesting of all the characters so far even if not likeable at all - I do wish she'd break up with Jason for good (and then stay single for a while - she needs to go to college, not have datingpalooza). Her persistence on trying to win him back is rather sad - I don't think she really loves him, because when you love someone you don't have an affair with the guy's best friend. And I am not sure she ever loved him, more of a picture of what they were supposed to be together. So just let go! I think she is trying to hold on because that is what you are supposed to do but in a way she is self-sabotaging the relationship the best she can, even if unconsciously (because really - his best friend? And it's not as if she was trying to have a relationship - in fact every time Tim tried to turn it into one she'd bluntly remind him she wanted him for sex only. That gal is great on self-esteem of two guys at once.) So yes - I feel sorry for her, trapped in a small town, and her good girl paradigm, and her own expectations. She needs to go to a college in Massachusetts or maybe Oregon. Somewhere far far away where she can just be herself and to actually discover what that herself is.

Still adore Matt, Coach and Mrs. Coach, Tyra, Landry, and of course Tim Riggins (Texan roughnecks don't go for therapists but that boy could sure use one). Still ship Tim/Lyla like whoa - probably because I am all about flaming trainwrecks in the making. I like Coach/Mrs in a very realistic way. Matt/Julie have a ridiculous cuteness potential but I can't ship them because they are such babies and I just feel maternal and want to tell her not to use that much lipstick and get him some meatloaf and maybe get them mittens and a bit of a sex-ed talk.

Not particularly interested in Jason (though feel sorry for him) and Smash's "Lifetime Movie of the Week" storyline isn't my thing but it's well-done. Adore Smash himself though.

Am I crazy or do Tyra and Tim's older brother have some lovely chemistry?

In conclusion - I space out a bit whenever Tim Riggins does his tortured sullen bad boy bit. Angst more, pretty boy, angst more.
