Farscape and other things.

After seeing this Farscape S3 spam, I am rewatching all of the show. Starting not with Premiere, but with A Bug's Life, because the whole story really starts, in many ways, with AHR but I watched AHR too many times. Awww, who am I kidding. I just want to get to the angst!

John/Aeryn. Still the only perfectly handled TV OTP.

ETA1: Can I have some good Supernatural fanfic recs? I don't care about genre, rating or length. But no Wincest please, sorry (yeah, I know I just narrowed down my potential reading list by 75 percent).

ETA2: Veronica Mars. When does ep 1 of s3 air on CW? When does it start again? I am curious to see if they will make it into a quasi-pilot, seeing that they will need to introduce it to a somewhat different audience.

All right, yeah, I know you don't see it, and I haven't ever watched the show, but from everything you've writtn, it sounds pretty darn slashy to me. ;p

But. But. See, if they were best friends, I'd be all for slash. But incest is never ever ever OK and I don't want to read about it in fic (whether het os slash). I got to say, they actually appear to me the way any brothers who love each other (not that way) and who are routinely put into life and death situation would act. Hey, they (or at least Dean) is all about one night stands with bimboes and Sam had an almost fiance and his motivation is to avenge her. Honestly speaking, Wincest would make them a lot more screwed up than they already are, and I just don't see that there.

I keep telling myself I need to watch Farscape. I keep hearing that it's really good, and I am apparently unable to not-obsess over a sci-fi show... My only problem is that I tend to like alien-less shows. I dunno, it's on my Blockbuster queue, hopefully I'll get to it eventually.

Hope you'll like. It's a very idiosyncaratic show. Half the people fall crazy for it, and the rest go "huh?" Also, I recommend starting with the end of S1, as the rest of S1 is OK but not as good as what follows.

Read ignipes. She writes truly excellent SPN and she's pretty strictly gen. trollprincess, maygra and lyra_wing write both sides of the line, same as I do, but whatever they write, it's extraordinary.

If you go to http://www.lawrenceawards.com/ you can find all the stuff that people felt was good enough to nominate for the awards and get a feel for lots of different writers. There are a HUGE number of really talented writers in SPN, and not all of them write Wincest, or they write both.

If you go here, it's a list of all my SPN fic, and it's all VERY clearly labelled--het, gen, slash, Wincest,etc. so you know what you're getting.

I was just going to rec Maygra, too. She labels all of her stuff, (website: http://wordsmiths.net/Maygra/#spn) so the Wincest should be avoidable.

Trollprincess is quite good, as well. Have not read too extensively in SPN beyond that, though.

They've made me cry like no other OTP ever!!!!! Thet are the ultimate OTP in my fandom book! I need to buy the dvds one of these days, I'll have to borrow the dvds from my poor sweet BF again very very soon! I miss John/Aeryn so much!!!! I'm still terribly pissed off because of the way this show was cancelled!

I've done 3 rec posts, mostly gen but with some slash/wincest and rps, here.

khohen1 made a post dedicated to SPN gen fic and gen writers here.

esorlehcar has an absolutely massive compilation of recs here. The stories are clearly marked if they're gen or Sam/Dean, so you won't be caught unawares with the wincest. :D
