The O. C. Does it stand for "Ogle Cuties?" (yeah, yeah, I couldn't come up with a better pun)

I started watching the pilot of The O.C., and why didn't anyone tellme about this before? It's totally frakking fun. It's an utter soap, but such an entertaining one. It reminds me of a much more upscale (and better acted, not that it's hard) One Tree Hill, and we all know how atrociously entertaining I find OTH. Basically, it fixes everything that annoyed me about Dawson's Creek: hot angsty guys? Check. Absence of pretentious, mile-a-minute-narcissist Dawson? Check. Soapy goodness of a plot? Check. No crazy cult wives? Check. (Though I haven't gotten to Marissa yet).

Plus, whoever plays Ryan is very hot. And full of angst. Kinda like a younger Russell Crowe. I like my men with testosterone. Heck, who am I kidding? I just like my men :P

So we shall see how it progresses.

I think there's just something about shows like that that set my teeth on edge. The endless cycle of bed hopping and nothing getting shot at wears on me. Give me fantasy any day, or at least a show like CSI with some smart hotties.

Well, I am only about 10 minutes into this, so I think I'll end up OTHing it (ffing it to watch bits) as it goes on, but at least in short term I am not finding it boring (I am less than an ep in) which is already better than Felicity and Dawson's Creek (I am setting my expecttions low, huh?)

Hm... What bothered me about the O.C. was that the concept of Seth Cohen's character was cool, but the way he played out he ended up being a rather fake geek. He does have good taste in music, apparently, but no taste to speak of in women.
So of course, after watching two episodes I gave up on it.

OC's okay. I loved it at first, enough HoYay! to roll around in for months, but then it got sort of repetitive. I still enjoy an occasional ep, though, for a certain het pairing and Seth, charming in all his occasional annoyingness. :)

Dislike the adults, though. Adults boring. Boo adults. :p Okay, Sandy is friggin' awesome but I hate the drama with the adults. Oh, and Marissa.
