Liveblogging episode 14 of Boys Over Flowers

Yes, finally, ep 14 pushed me over the edge and I had to resort to liveblogging (ahhh, brings back Hanadan2 days).



It's my favorite ep so far!

Side note: when Darth Mama looks pleased with you all the time, there is a cause for worry.

Ji Hoo's smile when he sees Jandi enjoy herself on the boat is...*melts*. And then he notices JP and his Mom in a restaurant with some people and I love how he manipulates so Jandi won't have to see. I know he is never going to get Jandi, but I want him to be happy at the end. Please? Please?

I love how F3 take such good care of Jandi. Not because she is their friend's girl (it's pretty clear she is likely not one any more) but because they've gotten to know her and like her on her own merit.

I am sooooo easy: all it took was one longing look from JP at Jandi's photo on his phone and I am in a forgiving mood. Mmmmm. Yum. So easy. But seriously...butterflies. I am too old for that sort of thing and yet here I am. I guess immaturity lasts forever :P

Aha, Darth Mama wants a merger with Shigeru's company. In every sense of the word :) But what is she going to do when she runs out of children? It's not like Korea will suddenly allow bigamy so she could resell Jun Hee and Jun Pyo over and over again. Maybe she should start rebreeding?

Suit and angst? Yup, butterflies. He angsts so purty! Give him some more!!

I love the scene with Ji Hoo and Jandi in her room - both her comment about enjoying the trip anyway because when would she get the chance to come here again (you go, girl!) and her little 'I just wanted to ask him how he was' comment, which rather breaks my heart, just as her asking (and not really asking Ji Hoo, but more like a rhetorical question of herself), that now JP is ignoring her, maybe she's just been dreaming by herself. I bet if she ever becomes fully convinced of this, JP will not be able to 'catch' her a second time - it was hard enough the first time and now she will trust him even less.

Ji Hoo's non-confession confession? Killed me. Killed me. I want him to be happy by the end, please? You know, while Jandi has this zing and chemistry with JP, and matching personalities, I don't think anyone will understand her as well, and 'get' her as well as Ji Hoo - they bond on a whole other level.

Love the scene with the window. Go Hye Sun rocks the dramatic scenes.

Jun Pyo in bed = lickable. He is 9 years younger than me. I am going to hell. And then the whole angst thing evaporates when he is woken up by a trumpeter. LOLOLOLOLOL.

Ahaaaa. Jerk is back and I want to stabbity him in his purty face. The whole 'I have no time to see my friends who have been waiting for a day' thing? JERK. Darth Mama would be proud - you are finally getting rid of childish things like friendship, along with romantic feelings. Keep it up and you'll star in the remake of "I'm a Cyborg but that's OK" as the title character. I wonder if it's because he is (a) afraid they will talk about Jandi; (b) knows if he faces them his resolve will crumple? Hmmmm.

Aha, they tracked him down anyway. Then let's hope they kick his face in.

"Why should I see her?" OK, bets? Who is going to punch him in the face first, Ji Hoo or Yi Jung? My money is on Ji Hoo - he already looks like he wants to rip Jun Pyo's throat out. If you think about it - he totally loves Jandi and he backed away because he is JP's friend and now JP is treating Jandi as if she is nothing and Ji Hoo has to see the woman he loves be so hurt.

OK, your womanizer friend Yi Jung thinks you are scum. You are in trouble. Or as seven_trees brilliantly put it: "When your friends, two of which are players of the highest degree, think you are a prick, guess what? Welcome to Douchebag City. Population: You." And JP's nerve in suggesting that what he is doing with Jandi is the same thing? DIE. It's one thing if a guy and a gal get together for a mutually agreeable fling, with no strings or illusions, terms clear beforehand. It's quite another to woo a girl like mad with protestations of undying devotion (and cause her a hell of a lot of trouble) and then ditch her when she reciprocates, ditch without a word. Urge to kill, riiiiiiiising.

Yup, Ga Eul read him so right: put on cynicism or not, he really does believe in corny things like soulmates. And this whole situation is probably bringing back his family issues anyway - with his scumbag serial cheater father who seems to have driven his mother into a high-strung suicide-threatening woman.

I love Yi Jung with scary love. When he throws JP's words about 'going to the end with Jandi' into his face, and yells at him being a cowardly bastard, and about Jandi's swimming thing and punches him out. Oh. oh. oh oohohohohohohhhhhhhh. *dies* Ga Eul would be so proud.

Ahahahahahhaaaaa! That's the jerk's excuse???? All the Shinhwa employees? LOLOLOLOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! You fail at life, Jun Pyo. RAGE. BURN. DIE. I fail to see how dating someone, unless they are Osama Bin Laden's daughter, affects the running of the corporation. I HATE YOU. BURN AND DIE. Also, seriously! For once, think before you charge in! Your friends warned you early on not to get into a relationship with Jandi in part on these types of grounds - socially unsuitable etc and you were all 'it doesn't matter' but clearly to you it does and you didn't think and charged through and wrecked her life and I hate you. I want Ji Hoo and Jandi to make out and hell, have sex or whatever, and videotape it and send it to you.

Yi Jung still looks mad. Good for him. Jandi - never ever take Jun Pyo back please? Seriously. You cannot do that to someone - not when you made them go on a limb like that. And even if you can (because fine, nobody should be stuck in a relationship they don't want), you OWE them the courtesy of at least a phone call to break up. Contrast that with something like Goong - yeah, Shin is a cold jerk to Chaegyung for a decent part of it, but he never professed to like her and he slowly melts. That's fine. This hot and cold is not fine. Ever.

Mmmmm. Jun Pyo, why you be so hot in your dark shirt angsting all over the place? What with hating your behavior but feeling lust for your fictional self at the same time, my hormones are getting confused!

I love that Ji Hoo-Jun Pyo scene. JH is best guy ever - so selfless. Maybe they should make out to alleviate their angst? The can call each other 'Jandi' in bed.

I love that flashback to Jandi saying good-bye to Ji Hoo before heading to Macau. Curse you, kdrama! You made me a JH/Jandi shipper!

The scene on the bridge killed me. And then danced on the remains. Way to give angst, kdrama! I am totally sniffling and sniffling and sniffling. I should have remembered how good kdramas are at angst. OMG. Also, because I am a masochist, it just might be my favorite scene so far. Oh. Oh. Oh. OH. Yeah, they are over and I love the location because it gives this perfect air of unreality to it all.

That Jandi/JP montage when she is crying in the boat? What bliss for future vidmakers. Also, it's official - dammit, no matter what, I can't really give up my Jandi/JP ships - just looking at them gives me butterflies.

Curse you, viikii subs! JP just broke into his creepy Mom's office (where she is gloating over pics of heart-broken Jandi) and he is yelling something at her, with tears in his eyes but there are no subs. Dammit, what is he saying!!!!! Oh well...Lee Min Ho does have a gorgeous voice though...mmmmmmmmmm.

Oh, and now he is totally crying. *drinks it up greedily* I know enough Korean to figure out she is talking about his recently dead daddy. Hmmm...Darth Mama is a perfect travel agent for a guilt trip, I take it? But I love that this is the first time in two eps when JP isn't all self-contained and cold.

His falling apart is so sexy.

Ooooh, subs came in! Oooooh, it's even better with dialogue. When he yells at her that he is her own son (so how can she do this to him, presumably) - poor boy, she isn't really a good or even OK parent in any way - she is a stone cold bitch that will do anything to get what she wants. And when he almost whispers that Jandi was the first woman he's ever loved in his whole life, she doesn't even blink or show any sympathy but is all gloaty. Also, I know Koreans are big on filial piety but come on! JP hardly ever saw his father and I bet he was as good a parent as his Mommy Dearest - so he doesn't owe him anything. I know he is overemotional, too forthright and not super-bright, but seriously - figure it out already, JP!

OOOOOOOOH YES YES YES YES YES YES YES. Now I can fogive you, JP! If it was just the whole stupid workers-depend-on-me thing or dead daddy thing, I'd still be irritated, but his mother is explicitly threatening that if he picks Jandi, she will make it impossible for Jandi to live anywhere in Korea (and I bet she can do it, too!). OK, fine, fine, you have a good reason for being a jerk to Jandi then to protect her, and I can see why you can't tell her - you know she is going to pick you anyway (see ep 10) even if she knows she will suffer for it.

The scene with Ji Hoo taking out Jandi for the day and making her have a good time despite break up from hell? Makes me think of the scene in Peach Girl where Kairi took Momo out after Toji dumped her. I love that sort of thing.

Oh no, Jandi's little bro is sick? And the odd old man is the doctor. Heee. And the former President? LOL. Multitasker.

OMG, Jun Pyo sees Jandi in the window and the staring he does OMG. I am getting a bit hot under the collar here.

And Jandi is mooning over some shoes but can't afford the hefty price tag.

Ahahahahaha, JP and Shigeru meet because they both want the same shoes (no, JP doesn't have a tranny thing going, he is buying the shoes Jandi wanted. Awwww). And they are tugging and he sticks his tongue out at her, LOL. No matter the angst, there is always a bit of funny in there too.

Oooh, quite a contrast between Jandi's parents, devotedly sleeping by their sick son's bed and Darth Mama who is gloating Jandi is leaving and Jun Pyo is spending the night in the office, just how it should be.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG *hyperventilates* He is in the office, all right, watching photos of Jandi on his monitor and that video she sent him and crying. And then he remembers his Dad and promising (OK, fine, I'll fanwank the whole his Dad used to be nice to him when he was little and then drifted away because of business pressures) and TORN ANGST YESSSS (that is why you shouldn't let angsty youngsters with parental issues decide things - but then Darth Mama is hardly looking for his interests). There is crying and screaming and huddling on the floor because he wants Jandi so much but he can't have her, because of promise to Dad (he might have been a lousy father but it's the only one he's got and yeah, a guilt trip would be pretty easy) and also Darth Mama's threats to Jandi. Ohhhhhhh. I am sick but YUM. More, more, more, more, I heartily approve. *slurps and rewatches* I need yummy caps. Btw, good work, Darth Mama - push your kid into a nervous breakdown! That will be super-helpful, for sure.

LOL, Ji hoo's friend is both insane and super-gay for Ji Hoo. I don't blame him :)

JP is calling Jandi's room only to find out she's checked out and there is ANGST. But what on earth would he possibly say even if he did get her on the phone? I don't think he has any idea either.

Ji Hoo and Jandi's day together? Perfect. Oh my. You go, Jandi, having an awesome time even if your bf just ditched you in a horrible fashion!
