Eyeballs burning with raaaaaage
Jul. 6th, 2006 09:18 pmI just read Jacob's recap of Farscape's "Exodus from Genesis" and I want to hit something. preferably him. The recap is, as always, overly pretentious, with no mockery or funny bits, and pseudo-philosophical, and much much too long, but what I can't wrap my brain around is someone so basically not understanding the show or the characters or the freaking theme of the thing so utterly. Ugh. Show? One universe. Jacob? Another. So stop with the freaking recap. (Hello? Farscape is the sewer into which Star Trek can run so it can be neat and clean? The HELL?)
Ugh. TWoP gets stupider by the freaking day.

Date: 2006-07-07 07:51 am (UTC)Also, this particular recap was saying how women in Farscape were all traditional nurturing mommies (comparing it unfavorably with BSG) which just made me want to grab my head and go whaaaaaaaa? Is he seeing the same Aeryn I am?

Date: 2006-07-07 11:48 am (UTC)Chiana is not a nurturer. Jool is... *snicker* And Sikozu? *dies* Oh, yeah. They're all nurturing mommies all right.
*points at icon* Aeryn wants to say this to him.

Date: 2006-07-07 07:52 am (UTC)Jacob's very prententious (IMO) style is deeply unsuited to such a pop-junk (and I mean it in a good way) show as Dr Who. Talk about killing the spirit!

Date: 2006-07-07 06:45 pm (UTC)That's a very good way of putting it. Having grown up on old Dr. Who, I do not get his impulse to find deep meaning there. It's got its themes and its moments, but yikes.
