I don't have in-depths observations about "Route 666" because hey, shirtless Jensen fried my brain.
Sam's "I didn't tell Jess but you told Cassie blah blah?" Whatever. First, Sam, it's not always about you. Also, I do think it's because Sam had no need to tell her. He was done with that whole business after all. Dean was going to have to explain his absence. And I do love that Dean is capable of opening up emotionally. Cassie must have been quite important to him.
Cassie Dean=OTP? I am all for anything that gets a cute guy shirtless.
Suits. Boys in suits and ties.
OMG. OTP and Dean as good boyfriend and their angry apologies and they still want each other and he loved her and sex scene and my brain shuts down.
OMG. Pillowtalk. And kissing. And Dean keeping his arm around Cassie even when he is on the phone.
I love Supernatural's TPTB.
And Cassie's busting on Dean's bossiness and him changing it to "don't leave the house, please?" all nice and asking. And then them kissing and Sam clearing his throat in such a brotherly fashion. Loved Sam's reactions throughout, actually. I wonder if seeing Dean and Cassie is bringing memories of Jess back. I do think it means he is a bit better that he is able to cope.
And at the end, with the parting from Cassie, OMG. Dean is a closet (very very very closet) romantic? Eeeeee. And then not answering Sam's question at the end about leaving it all. Getting emotions out of Dean is like dragging a camel through a needle eye.
Suits!

Kissing:

Shirtless sex:

And he cuddles afterwards!

Thank you, TPTB. Now, up the freaking lighting in the scene! And pull the blankets lower! And then we'll be really set.

Date: 2006-07-06 11:41 pm (UTC)That said, this episode is one of the reasons I see Dean being the one more happily settled down in normal family life had he been given the chance. When he finally is serious about a woman he's a GOOD boyfriend. It's also interesting that HE was the wounded party when she broke up with him. Sam sort of brings that home when he's openly incredulous that she dumped him. Dean might not be the cuddly, cutesy boyfriend who's overly thoughtful like Sam is, but he's the boyfriend who is completely loyal and completely NEEDS his girl. He can be hard to put up with, but he's more emotionally sensitive than he would appear. Dean needs to be needed.
And again Dean shows that he just can't deal with his own emotions by ignoring Sam. Dean bottles everything he feels and I think that's partially why he's so intimidating when he does snap.
Also love Dean's "how did you know that would work" at the end. Dean isn't the only brother who can come up with stupid plans on the fly.

Date: 2006-07-07 12:51 am (UTC)Cassie didn' bug me. She was a one-episode kinda gal to demonstrate that Dean can care for people outside his family and that a normal family life is something he'd be good at. If she was a recurring, I'd probably want them to flesh her out a heck of a lot more, but for one ep, I was fine with her.
Re: truck. I thought the truck meant to bring the house down, in which case, second floor wouldn't have helped. Or maybe she was just channeling Miaka and defending self by screaming for her capable boyfriend. What I REALLY want to know is why no one moves out of crazy haunted places as the ghosts seem to have a pretty local radius (well, that and why Dean and Sam don't look alike at all, but that's a whole other matter :P)
Of any female characters we met so far, I actually could have seen Dean with Layla the most. Or maybe that girl from the wendigo ep. She was kinda a female Dean type.

Date: 2006-08-03 03:40 pm (UTC)I really liked Cassie. Not just because of shirtless Dean, though of course that is a huge point in her favor.
I loved how right when Sam and Dean get to the office she just looks at Dean and she looks so vulnerable and hopeful. And then the argument! And the apologies! And Sam being cute!
And oh, the ending where Dean is all, "I've seen stranger things."
Seriously, I can't stop smiling. They were all so squishy.
