Ninjas in lurveeeeeee

(They are so thinking: What do you mean we get to angst again? Have we ever done anything else?)
I really love how KotW can be subtle. I love the scene in the warehouse where they are mixing poisons to be put into party wine, and Muhyul is remembering poison training at the ninja center, and having to watch a slave be experimented on, same position he was in a short time ago. Gosh, the guy must be a total mess.

The love triangle makes me so happy, how he saves her at the risk of his life and gets wounded, and she is dressing his wound without remembering her own, and then Dojin takes her away to take care of her and all the staring GUUUUH.

I love my OTPs forbidden so the bit where his friend reminds him he can't have her and she is a Princess and he is a slave makes me very happy.

Dojin was a traitor's son OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who was originally a Prince but Daeso killed his father and sent him to the evil ninja camp? OMG!

I really love how Muhyul is so cynical and clear-eyed and not bitter, but acceptingly realistic: they only get praise if they fulfill their almost-impossible, morally not-good missions. The moment they fail, they get killed.

I love that even with that, and with the awfulness of the life of evil ninjaism, with the added creepiness of Daeso's court, Muhyul and Dojin and Yeon and Maru manage to become friends and keep that friendship somehow.

Daeso is ice cold. So sweet to Yeon, quasi daughter blahblah, but orders her killed just because her father is a traitor. Ugh. But it was awesome to see Dojin's pain on hearing the order to kill Yeon's father and the entire family and his nerve in seeking audience (despite his desire to be accepted by Daeso) is just...I love Dojin only second to Muhyul.

Muhyul broke my heart in ep 10: he's become a pessimist-realist. Younger Muhyul would have fought the order, but he says he will do it: if Daeso ordered it the family is dead and if they resist all that would happen is others will kill them and they (i.e. ninjas that refused) would follow. But he is still going to save Yeon. omgomg. As if the OTP isn't forbidden already. He is going to be part of the death squad that is ordered to kill her idolized father (who is the one who turned him into slave and an obedient machine and knocked idealism out of him btw). How is it going to go?

Oh, the scene with Yeon's father and Dojin (who has to kill him) killed me. Because for Dojin it's like killing a father. Oh. My. GOD. And Dojin asks Muhyul to protect Yeon.

When he rescues her GUUUUH. "Wherever you are, I will find you."

Gay Bandit taking wimpy crown prince to brothel was loltastic.

Mmmm. When Dojin goes all psycho killer on traitor ninja. And Muhyul does nothing to stop him. OMG I am sick but YUM.

Mmmm, this drama is so fun!
