dangermousie | I like the ships that make me cry...

I have to say, I have done a complete 180% and the ship I am currently most invested in, in East of Eden is not the potential love triangle with Dong Chul and Grace or Hye-Rin (because seriously, I think they are setting something up with HR. There was staring with mushy music). Heh, DC=rich girl magnet. He could always have a good career as a gigolo :P

It is, instead, the oh-so-doomed Dong Wook/Ji Hyun ship. I used to think they weren't very interesting: blah, blah childhood sweethearts, but it's sort of been tearing out my heart since ep 9. Because, yes, we did get a sense of how much he loved her when he didn't care that she betrayed him to be tortured for days (because she was tortured herself), and that was the scene that sold me on their ship so entirely, and he also didn't think of anything but her when he found out she was raped (no desire for revenge, no anger, just a concern for her and a wish to tell her he still loves her and make her feel better). And he wrote her letters from the army every day etc. But all that is well and good. What killed me was his reaction to finding out she was pregnant with the rapist's child (and mind you, the rapist belongs to the family DW hates more than anything). He had no hesitation, no other thought than to tell her that he doesn't care whose child it is, he will raise it as his own and he loves her etc. Which is just...considering the conservative society and the stigma of the situation and the fact that it's the child of his enemy is just...GUUUUUH. (I loved that when DC talked to Ji Hyun and urged her not to give up his brother (huge points to him!) he had to think long and hard when JH told him about the baby (but to his credit was ultimately OK) but for DW it's automatic).

Basically, I hope after the drama is over, Ji Hyun is free to stop being Mrs. Whiny Rapist and can hook up with DW. But I think she won't as it will all end in a giant blood-bath.

In other news, I have no idea what's going on in these stills from ep 9 of The Kingdom of the Winds but I am gleeing like mad. Hot ninja threesome, like I say!
