Supernatural: Pilot thoughts

Mmmmm. I got a new show I like. Namely? Supernatural. These are scattered thoughts on the pilot.

Awwwww. Dean is cynical and snarky. And he idealizes his Mom. And he is also really lonely. You can see how badly he wants Sam to stick with him. He misses (hey keepaofthecheez, I almost typed in 'kisses' instead) his little brother. But he is so devastated for him at the end. Unlike Sam, Dean remembers losing their Mom, so he knows how horrible it must be. Poor Dean. He appears to be quietly fucked up, doesn't he?

And poor Sam. Losing his gf and his normal life? Sucks. He is kinda like a puppy and equally adorable.

There is also a lot of snark and brotherly chemistry, I am in love with the damn show. Or at least strong like. Btw, why does that demon have it in for the women that hook up with Winchesters? Good thing Dean doesn't have anyone. Or is it all about Sam, because both of the corpses were dripping on him?

As much as Dean wants his brother back, he also wants Sam to have a chance at a normal life. In "Something Wicked" Sam makes the comment that he could be "that innocent" while watching some carefree kids. Dean immediately says "I wish you could be too". Dean would take it all if he could, so it pains him that he can't do anything for Sam.

The implication is that it's all about Sam. Sam is a "special" kid. In "Devil's Trap" the demon reveals that it killed Jess because Sam was going to marry her. This is why Sam keeps all females at arm's length.

That's so interesting, because I've only seen one ep, but you can already pick up the vibes. Even from the very intro of little Dean taking care of little Sam.

What is so special about Sam, btw? And why kill the mother?

There's another flashback later on that shows just how much responsibility Dean had for taking care of Sam. Dean pretty much raised his brother and considering Dean cuts himself off from everyone else, Sam is almost all he has. Dean IS lonely. As the series progresses you start to see how world weary he really is.

Sam is apparently a "special" child. He finds after Jess's death that he has psychic abilities and can "see" certain things before they happen. He also has limited telekenesis which he uses once, when he trapped and Dean is about to be killed. There's no explaination about why the women keep having to be killed.

Oh yes. Dean is worth the watching, by himself. And then there is all the other good stuff like the plot and Sam and monsters and Sam and mystery of their father and Sam :P

Guess what? My cousin in Australia loves Supernatural, and as the VM season finale was nearing, I decided that I should watch that show.
So, soon I'll probably be squeeing about that, too. Hurray for summer vacation!
