Drona! (No spoilers)

Saw Bollywood flick Drona tonight.
I can see why it's getting bad reviews, but I enjoyed it. Sure, it had its slow moments and the characters are paper-thin even by Bolly standards, but it is visually gorgeous (very creative, not like anything I've seen before. I was especially in love with the scenes in the secret city), and both Abhi and Priyanka are very violent, very chemistry-filled, and very hot.
A pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.
I think all the hype about it being a super-hero movie was actually a disservice. What it is, is a fairy-tale, and a pretty complicated one at that. If I were 10, this would be my favorite movie ever.
Plus, how could one say no to a movie that has, in addition to the above:
* Killer Puppets
* A Karate-Using Nun
* Nazgul
* Gandalf the White
* Hero willing to destroy the Universe to save his mother (nothing like a bit of Bolly filial piety)
Yeah, go watch!
Also, Kay Kay Menon is having a blast in his villain role, making Amrish Puri in Koyla seem like a paragon of subtlety, but it totally works for the kind of movie this is.
