To go friends-only or not?

dangermousieI am considering making my livejournal "friends only."
Normally I wouldn't bother, as I post only fannish stuff, but:
a. lately I have been friended by hordes of random Russian people. Why? Who the hell knows. But it's irritating. And worrying. I doubt they have done it for the love of Korean entertainment.
b. More troubling, I've read about hacked LJ accounts and all. I don't want that to happen to me. I've had this LJ for over 4 years and I love all the stuff on it. Maybe it will be less attractive to a wannabe hacker if they don't see anything on it.
So, yay or nay?
