Domyouji:
Lee Min Ho. Age 23.
Hmm. I have never seen him in anything but I am predisposed to be favorable because he is an actor, not a popstar and (I am shallow) the boy is hot.
Rui:
Kim Hyun-joong . Age 22.
I have never seen him in anything. He is the one who was rumored to be in this as Rui earlier. He looks freakishly like Vic Zhou in dramabeans' photo but not this one (Taiwanese Rui and my favorite Taiwanese star) so yay. Still. No idea if he can act. But then, neither could Vic back then. I was always more of a Domyoji girl anyway.

Kim Bum. Age 19.
Cue unearthly fangirly scream! If you asked me a week ago, I wouldn't have known who Kim Bum was from a hole in the ground, but he absolutely blew me away as the younger version of the protagonist in East of Eden. It just might be my favorite performance out of that whole mostly amazing EoE bunch. So. GUUUH. Yes. But now I am yearning for him to be Domyouji. So badly. Heee. To quote dramabeans: "You’ve got this budding “serious” actor, so don’t waste him." Yes, please.
Akira is Kim Joon. Age 23.
No idea who he is (and no pic). Some boyband member, first acting role. But then, do we care? All Akira does is stand around looking cute.
I am not normally big on casting boybanders in roles (one of the many reasons I prefer kdramas to jdramas is because kdrama actors are usually primarily actors). But since this is such a young cast (another unusual thing for a kdrama), oh well...Plus, 2 out of 4 are actors (yup, Kim Bum might be in a band but the boy is turning out to be an incredible actor, so I won't hold it against him).
Now, who will be Makino?
(I am shallow, shallow, shallow, but this cast is way prettier than the jdrama one, much as I love the jdrama).
ETA: Grrrr. The more I think about it, the more I am irritated that Kim Bum wasn't cast as Domyouji. Someone at dramabeans pointed out his acting/emotional resemblance to Jo In Sung and that is so on point, and also, considering that JIS was everyone's (and mine) choice to be Domyouji, if he wasn't too famous and too old to be Domyouji so...grrrrrrrr. Also, EoE made him famous. So. Grrrr.
