Brotherly love is the order of the day...
Sep. 29th, 2008 04:08 pmIt's funny, because in both the kdramas that I am watching this season, The Kingsom of the Wind and East of Eden (where are the subs for Tazza, alas, where?), for me the most compelling relationship is not with the hero's love interest but the sibling relationship between the protagonist and his brother.
This is most strongly evident with EoE, where older brother's Dong Chul's (protagonist's) love for baby brother Dong Wook is the moving force in both his life and the story, and where none of the so-far introduced romantic relationships for the brothers are anywhere near as strong as the bond between the brothers.

(younger versions)
But it's true with The Kingdom of the Wind too, even if to a lesser extent because I am sensing the older brother to Muhyul will not be around forever and because unlike with EoE, the love story with Muhyul and Yeon is utterly irresistible to me. I love watching their interactions, knowing Muhyul does not know the high-and-mighty Crown Prince is actually his older brother but is nontheless is fully on his way of idolizing him, and where Haemyeong will do anything to protect and care for his younger sibling (as he knows who Muhyul is).
Plus, they look hot when fighting together.

Maybe it's just nice to see loving siblings after the usual awful kdrama families.
