Also, Dr. Min is my newest dorama boyfriend. It's funny, I liked Jang Hyuk in Robbers very well but that was about it. However here all of a sudden I am hyperventilating and not being able to take my eyes off him. (Same thing happened with Rain in A Love to Kill. I thought he was adorable in Full House but then ALTK came around and I just died). He is incredibly competent and arrogant and angsty and falls apart so deliciously. I cannot wait to see how the sparks are going to fly between him and Gong Hyo Jin. Both of them will have things they need to heal from and move on from (for him the Dead!Gal and for her the scumbag guy who left her pregnant and alone)...

Gong Hyo Jin is, as always, so awesome it hurts. She just might become my favorite drama actress: she plays strong and never lapses into self-pity or 'cuteness' or weakness. She is amazing. The little girl who plays Bom, GHJ's daughter, is awesome too, older than her years in some ways, a total child in others.

Anyway, when we left off, Dr. Min was stalking the halls, being his own icy self, doing his doctory things, such as drinking juice.

(Though why did he look away when he saw an old man patient. Hmmmm...)

EEEE! He finds out that a lady henceforth to be named Dead!Gal for obvious reasons has pancreatic cancer which is about to off her and freaks, driving emoly and recklessly!

Dead!Gal it turns out is a Doc in some community clinic. One point: I can't help but wonder if they are exes, not a current couple. She is shocked to see him, we see a pic with her hidden in his drawer, and I don't know...their interaction doesn't come across as if they are currently dating, 'my loves' and all notwithstanding. They certainly don't even live in the same city! (I wonder if it has something to do with his father because the way he mentions the guy later leads me to believe there might be something weird with his Dad. Also, aren't him, Dead!Gal and an older man and woman all in that hidden pic together?)

And Dr. Min is there and is all 'this is not how you choke someone, this is how you do it' and grabs her and holds in a quasi-choke and instead pulls her into this bruising hug and asks 'have you had lunch, my love?' EEEE! She looks totally surprised so seriously, I am betting exes. That would also fit as to why he became such a cold bastard a year ago...

Meanwhile, elsewhere, GHJ is making promos for her farm tangerines:

This is the father of the child, who is clearly not only a scumbag to leave a pregnant woman alone and unsupported, but is also not bright, not figuring out it's his kid. I am going to hate him, I can tell: spineless, useless coward. With a bitch of a mom whom he allows to insult GHJ. I hate him. Even when he realizes it's his kid, he does nothing. Die please.

Bom is all 'is it true people look down on you because you are a single mom?' and GHJ is all 'total lie, there are 10 men who want to marry me and I'll line them all in the garden.' Heeee.

They are at lunch and she calls him 'my love' and eeeee, his face!!!

Then, they are back in the clinic where he is being hardcore competent and saves some woman.

She is all 'what are you doing?' and he is all 'am getting more suave' :P And she doesn't want surgery but he convinces her and I get the sense she gives in because it doesn't matter... (She also thanks him for caring which also makes me think exes because that is a really odd thing to say to your bf)

He seriously has a degree in angsty driving!

He is begging head doc to let him do the surgery, which is a useless one. He is kneeling! He tells the man 'she is your daughter but she is still my woman!' *flails*

OK, operating on the girl you love? Even I can tell it's a bad idea and I am not a doc. It was an awesome scene and I loved how they intercut his memories of their time together and surgery...he is unbuttoning her surgical gown and remembering unbuttoning her shirt etc etc. AWESOME.

It turns out they can't operate for medicalbabbletalk reasons and headdoc forbids and he has a meltdown. Anyway, it's all one giant yummy excuse for angst.
