Veronica Mars: 2.01. Newbie's impressions and liveblogging

OK, so tonight was the premiere of the second season of Veronica Mars. Coincidentally, it was also my very first VM episode.

I didn't have high expectations: some fun and angst and decent writing will satisfy me.

So, what did I think?

I really like it. I have no idea how it compares to the first season, but on its own it's quite good. It's funny, it has angst and witty dialogue, and a clever plot I can't really catch up with in the first two minutes.

I wish it didn't jump back and forth in time though :)

Also, count me in. Logan is definitely HOT.

* She mentions a boyfriend: so who is it?
* I so know a restaurant like this. Apparently so does Duncan. Because of koalathebear I keep thinking of Shane West.
*So this is Logan. Me like. You can't go wrong with wounded, devastated, and falsely accused. Awwww....and crying. Mmmmm, I like this show. I can definitely see the LoVe.
*Wallace's hair scares me. He's been hanging out with Book. Also, sorry thelana but not Wallace/Veronica for me. They have zero sexual chemistry. Plus, Wallace is sadly, not hot.
*Mmmmm, kissing + bruises. I prefer my boyfriends un-beat up, but I guess Veronica is not complaining. She's short, isn't she?
*I like Meg. She's snarky. She can be Duncan's consolation prize.
* Mystery? I don't care who did it, but I like that I can't guess the twists.
* OK, so Logan had broken ribs and concussion as well? I guess being beaten up by gangs sucks. Shouldn't he be moaning in pain though, not driving to break down in Veronica's lap? Not that I am objecting but...
*I like this show, it's funny (I have no idea which particular moment this referred to).
* Ooooh, Logan got off. I am all for high priced lawyers. And hey, since this is the only time he is wearing something not two sizes too big (hard to do with a suit), I am all for trials. Plus, they hold hands in the car. Awww.
*I really really like Veronica's Dad. He is like the human smurf. He needs to be patted on the head.
* OK, I am officially a L/V shipper as much as I can be any kind of shipper after one ep. Because the making out in the car is Teh Hot. And Logan has the nicest smile, and they have cute banter and he tells her he is in love with her. He is just nice when he is with her, which doesn't look like his normal state. I melt, or at least until the car gets blasted. Well, sex in the back seat would have sucked anyway. I think.
* Made for TV movie about Movie Star Killer who had an affair with an underage girl. I can so see that. Lifetime and USA will fight for rights, I bet.
* How do you set fire to a pool? It's water.
* CORDY!!!!!!
* Scanky Cordy!!!!!!!!
* To go with scanky Logan!! Tip: if she was in middle school when you were born, you should probably not hook up with her.
* Huh? Veronica is kissing Duncan? Is she dating both of them? Busy girl. Stop giving me heart-attacks, show!
* Duncan is very cute. He has a manly chin. But I am afraid, on limited evidence, I am LoVe for now. I just don't see much chemistry there because two nice people=dull.
* OK, my favorite scene a.k.a. Logan has a nervous breakdown. Veronica isn't that patient, is she? She ditched Logan after a month? Two months? Yeah, the guy has issues, but shouldn't she give him a bit longer to get over them? Besides, usually isn't it 1. You talk out the problems. 2. If it doesn't work, you ditch. Skipping to step 2 directly is bad. I guess she wants to get back to "normal" but since they guy has nobody but her, I'd cut him some slack.
* Violent Logan. Is it wrong that I think it's hot?
* Yup, Logan, your life sucks. On the plus side, you are hot when you angst. Or when Keith pins you against the wall.
* Duncan and Veronica. Well, you can't get more normal than Duncan. They are very sweet. But not much chemistry. OTOH, Duncan's issues are non-existent. Or maybe like Veronica, he's just good at ignoring them.
* Duncan tries to do a Max from Roswell and sit at a cafe day after day staring at the pretty waitress. He isn't anywhere near as good at it as Max was though. I guess it's the lack of alien blood.
* Mmmmm, Logan and Veronica exchange glances. I am sorry the chemistry just does not compare. On the plus side, D/V brings out nasty snark in Logan so me like.
* Gia makes me laugh. I want to see more of her. But not that outfit.
* Logan misses Veronica. Except it seems his way of getting over her is to have an affair with a married Demon-possessed being. He just might end up with some exotic STDs.
* Weevil? Tattoos are NOT hot. YOU aren't bad though.
* Argh! Don't tell me Meg is dead!!!! I liked her. Besides, that way Duncan could go with her when LoVe made me happy and got back together.

Final analysis: best show ever? No. I couldn't judge it from one ep. But I liked it and want to see more. I definitely think Logan and Veronica have way more chemistry than Veronica and Duncan which are kinda dull. But I shall stay away from rabid shipperdom as ulcers suck.

In other news they had an ad for a Barbie DVD. What kind of a hell is it?

Yeah of course I looked. I doubt the torrent is even available for download yet so of course I looked. To be honest I was intending to download about 5 episodes before I startec watching season 2.

I can't believe they get back together only to break up again and she goes off with Dunkin' Donut? *sob* Psst it's Shane West not Sean West and don't get me wrong, Shane West is cute and all - I liked him A Walk To Remember and Get Over It but while Duncan is cute-esque, he cannot compare to my Angsty Tortured Vulnerable Logan.

I must say, I agree with you. Duncan is cute, but he is booooo-rrrrring. I am definitely a LoVe convert. But hey, they had to break up: TV law. No drama in happy couples. Drama in triangles. And if L/V were together and Duncan was trying to "break in" it wouldn't have worked because not much chemistry there. The other way there's still chemistry. Oodles of it. Gosh, please don't let D/V end up together: it just doesn't work (or they might blow me away next ep. Who knows, I suppose).

Oh, and I so own A Walk to Remember. Just for SW.

Haha, hell yes. Newbie VM-er as well. I saw the show over the summer though, so wasn't my first and I'm partial to LoVe, especially since 1. no D/V chemistry and 2. Duncan isn't attractive. And of course, Logan = hotness. ;-) But I don't really like bad boys and he has good boy looks which is... making me wish he wasn't sleeping with his friend's step mother because that's freaky.
