Wouldn't it be funny if I hated it? I did buy a HK version (oh joy, Chinese subtitles! But it's cheap) off ebay so will see how I like it. If I hate it, i can always relist.

For now, I visited http://MarsInvestigations.net that dearladydisdain recced and had a blast with their character summaries.

My fave exerpts:

Btw, I don't think Logan hot in the pics. Does that make me a mutant? Maybe he just stares well or has a fun character, or something...

Also, Duncan's write-up makes him totally the type of fictional guy I'd fall for: he seems to win at angst sweepstakes, what with the meds and incest (at least in his head), and the dead sister. Oh no...I see my doom of being a D/V shipper loom closer and closer. Please tell me Logan's pet rabbit gets run over by a mean trucker and his candy money stolen, and other similar angst, quick! I know his girlfriend died and his Dad isn't the nicest, but this isn't as angsty as Duncan-angst!

It seriously does NOT get angstier than Logan. I don't know exactly how you're doing this, so I won't be specific, but by the end of the season...he basically has nothing left. And it's glorious. Also, Jason Dohring is not very photogenic, and often does not look terribly hot in pictures, but in motion he is amazing.

However - what's the big problem with shipping D/V? It's probably the second most popular pairing in the fandom, and it has a lot of emotional resonance. Plus: oddly hot. Shipping it won't get you shunned or anything. I'm not even a big Duncan fan, but the hate for his character is unreasonable and unsavoury. I'd hate to see you buy in to that before you even see it!

Actually I'm thinking about changing them, because I've had them so long now. It's just that I'm lazy. Plus I get very annoyed about this whole having to give credit thing, so I can't just take the one's available either.

Plus, I kind of have this thing about themes (all icons from one movie/show/actor/whatever). But I want some Prison Break icons, but I don't know if I'm ready for a full Prison Break set.

So, I'm still pondering.

Oh...OK *feels relieved* I guess I still have HP and Buffy-wars scars. It seems everyone on my flist who is into VM and a shipper is V/L shipper, and I had a hideous thought that shipping D/V was like being a B/R shipper: instant doom! :)

I really hope VM fandom is saner than Buffy's!

I'm not a very devoted shipper of either of them. But my fave D/V moment is the scene where leaps of the bleachers smacking right onto the conrete. Gotta love those psychotic self destructive kinds.

I've been reading your posts on this and thinking, specifically about the angst: all these characters are so fucking screwed. But they don't really sit around blubbering about it. The angst is really mostly implied, which is why I can stand it :P

Well, it would be really annoying if they were just doing nothing but analyzing themselves to death...Though "Sigmund Freud Presents" has a ring to it.

I think the best thing about VM is that it never wallows in the angst and woe-is-me the way that Buffy totally did.

Heee: the Buffy slam. I thought Buffy had a good balance of 'woe is me' earlier on, but then as it progressed, it really lost it (in so many ways). And if the characters wallow so much, I lose any desire to wallow for them

koalathebear said he looks like Shane West and I always had a thing for SW, so that might explain it. Who knows what I'll actually think of the guy once I see him on screen!

Logan is the angst master.
The angs, though, is very well done. One of the things that makes the show not just another teen drama is that Veronica is not self-pitying. She states the facts as they are, and will fix what's wrong because that's what needs to be done.

That's tv guide's fault. They actually don't look nearly as stilted on the show. ;) Seriously, their chemistry is really cute.

Plus they are another "I realize they are cute, but I don't really love them" couple, they might be good for you ;D

I don't think that this one is much better, but good Desperate Housewives photoshoots are hard to come by. They actually have a lot of good ones, but they are usually trying to be particularly artsy or creative. Which in turn leads to them not being very cute or romantic.



Plus I probably still have a lot of left over Teri Hatcher love from Lois and Clark. (you have seen that one, right?
