Mmmm, Beautiful Days continues fun.
I am on ep 15 now, and let's see:
1. Ugly Brother continues new ways to make everyone's life a misery. He has now expanded his circle of targets to his Mother. As to his treatment of Hero, all I can say is that if being able to wreck things for other people was a marketable talent, he would be one of the richest men in the world. I spend all the time he is on screen wanting someone to shove him into a wall and amputate his kidneys. I love it when Hero points out to him that the issue in the love triangle not who can hypothetically treat Heroine better but whom she actually wants. THANK YOU THE ONLY ONE WITH COMMON SENSE.
1a. Ugly Brother is capably assisted by Quasi-Sister, who is my least fave female character in a drama ever. Which is a feat, as she is not even an OTP-interloper. It's just her brainlessness, selfishness, shallowness and solipcism makes me want to pull out her nasty dyed hair by the roots.
2. Hero and Heroine are still so adorably functional together. There is this adorable scene where she bullies him into buying roses for his Stepmom (with whom he never got along with in his life). If by 'bullies' I mean a gentle insistence and smiles, and touching his hand and prodding. Heeee. He is such putty in her hands.
3. There is a scene of amazing adorableness when Hero and Heroine spend the day out with Minji, the Hero's troubled sister. It is very very awesome, and when they are hanging out in the park, or take her to a karaoke parlor or what not, it's so so so family-like and cute. It's like they are practicing for a kid. And Minji is happy (she is much better-behaved now, eee) and Yon-soo (heroine) is happy, and wonder of wonders, workaholic Minchul (Hero) is all relaxed and smiley and just happy too. Heroine totally makes him relax and smile a lot.
4. The best part is karaoke scene of surpassing cuteness. Once Minji runs off to see her friends, they are left in the karaoke parlor together for a bit, and there is this total glancing/smiling that couples do when they are so pleased with each other. It's cuteness. And he tries to sing but gives up ASAP because it's so not him to be mushy, which is even cuter. And then he just pulls her up into a silent slow dance and it is so ROMANTIC and awesome and there is nuzzling and he manages to sing out ILY and looks so smugly pleased with himself. Oh, my functional OTP of quiet girl and workaholic. EEEE. He always looks so smug when he pulls off something remotely romantic, LOL
5. Heh. He has learned to say 'sorry' verbally. She is seriously training him well :P
6. To make it all better, Evil Father just found out they are dating. (She was in his room comforting him after another one of Ugly Brother's charming activities). LOL. I love the scene because when Evil Father tries to do the whole 'WTF, all she has is her body, are you dating her? you are? argh!' Hero's very common-sense reply is (a) You are not to speak of her disrespectfully (b) none of your business. YES. YES. I cannot wait to see how Evil Father will wreck things now. Oh, and he also told Hero women are like trains. My mind, being in the gutter, went to 'you ride them and get off' but what he meant on is your destination in life might change depending on which one you take. Blah, I like my version better.
7. asjkfkdkdjdjdjd MARRIAGE PROPOSAL OF CUTENESS AND ADORKABLENESS. Seriously, I can't describe the sheer perfect awkwardness of Hero and the awesomeness and sweetness of the scene, so I won't. EEEE! And he tells her it would be hard to be with someone like him, so she should really think it over. And she tells she doesn't need time to think. asjkfjhfghrhfjdfkdkjdhjdjd. And there is kissing in the middle of tons of roses. And they are so happy. I can see leukemia happening any time now :)
8. Wait, no leukemia yet because I think he is about to find out his father is a murderer. Argh. Can't watch the trainwreck. Poor woobies. *squoosh*
I still think Hero and Heroine should grab Minji (who totally approves of Heroine) and move away far from the rest of the nutters.
