I think Pride is ultimately still my fave jdrama (I am going to rewatch it shortly) but this is a very close second.
And such hopefulness and sweetness. I was smiling and awwing. Which is just as well after earlier hell.

OMG, what with her leaving the pink glass angel behind (and he now has it), and her father begging him to marry her, and dying cancer child, and her miscarriage. Why yes, thank you, drama, I didn't need my heart so you can stomp on it all you want.
OMG, OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE FINDS OUT HE LIED AND THE REASON HE LEFT HER IS BECAUSE HE LOVES HER OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG.
And she goes to Nagasaki to meet him. And she finds him at the beach and he was thinking about her at the time, and remembering their first meeting, with his photographing her and he hears 'click click' noises and she is there, mimicking taking photos.
And it is still no-go because he is so set because of his blindness. And I love that she doesn't tell about miscarriage, or that she knows about his lie. And he watches her walk away and I am dead dead dead from the look on his face.
OMG, his mother so hoped he'd bring her back. And there is doorbell and you can tell for one second he hopes it's her.
It's the Doctor for whom she works! And he knocks (figuratively) some sense into Shunsuke! And he finds out about miscarriage! And looks at photos. And...and...and...and...
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG He goes running looking for her, and she's left the hotel and he searches the city and he has an attack and he crashes on the ground and then he is running still even though everything is blurry and he sees her get on a tram and he yells her name and she doesn't hear and he runs after the tram and he can't see at all any more and he collapses on the ground, screaming her name, and then is just collapsed and he looks up and he sees a blur running towards him and it is Shiki and OMGOMGOMGOMG I think this is the best thing in the history of the Universe.
She says the last thing she wants to show him before he goes blind is tomorrow.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They get married before he loses his sight. Smiling hotness.
OMGOMG sometime later, and he is about to lose his sight entirely and the look on his face and he turns her towards him so she is the last thing he will ever see.
I think my screen now has dents in it.

You MUST watch past the credits. Because baby!!! And they are smiling with the baby. YES.
Also, in my AU, they find a cure a few years later.
This is going into my Top 5 dramas ever.
