More thoughts on last night's VM
Mar. 16th, 2006 12:27 pmYou know, I think in a way, Logan's new haircut, which makes him look older, really works for the situation as it adds to this contrast between FUBARed, older, jaded Logan and innocent, sweet Hannah who he is playing like a guitar.
Does he feel bad for what he is doing? I think so. But he is also putting on a frighteningly good imiation of his sincerity with Veronica late last season. It's freaking me out that he can be that good. You can tell something is off in his manner, as a viewer, but I don't think Hannah can. Eeeek. I am almost wishing for Logan to fall for her, as L/V has been dead for a long time. Of course, this being the VM usinverse, poor 'no one loves me and they all use me' Logan is actually using the one girl who seems open and genuine and cares for him. Hmmmm.
I love Dick. Yeah, yeah, yeah, make your snickery jokes now :)
His line to Veronica that she is like rich boy cryptonite is funny and true and you can actually see that it even makes V pause a bit. Heeee.
I was half sure he was going to turn out to be the gay blackmailer, but no such luck.
Also, the Cook failed blackmail of Lamb is silly. I mean, not being successful is dumb.
After Lamb is all "I lose my job but you lose endorcements" what Cook should have pointed out is that if Lamb charges him, he loses anyway, and this way at least Cook stays out of jail. So it's win win for Cook either way.

LOL... that would be (quoting RDM) a total shake-up of the viewer's expectations :P

Date: 2006-03-17 08:04 pm (UTC)Maybe it's just that Carmen was in the episode, but this reminded me of "M.A.D." in that the threat of mutual destruction didn't work... Thematic continuity??

It is damn creepy. It seems like there's a bit of self-mocking in there, at himself for ever being foolish enough to genuinely feel/behave that way. I hope next episode Veronica gives him an earful & punctuates every word with a good solid smack from a very heavy textbook. Poor Hannah! So smitten & doomed. I don't know how anyone can hate her, although I do hope that in the fallout from the reveal of Logan's plot she indulges in depressed binge eating & puts some meat on her wee bones.
