hello from new york
Jul. 8th, 2007 12:46 pmI am typing this on my blackberry ergo bizarre capitalization and not being able to respond to any comments left friday and yesterday until monday.
Having a blast! (Pictures coming). Right now am waiting for Mr. Mousie to get up and entertaining self by...Jumong.
That's right, we went into Korean area (32nd st) where I went into a Korean bookstore and, somehow able to resist the pull of that immortal cinema masterpiece, Kangaroo Jack with Korean subtitles, got Jumong instead (it came in a nifty set with a miles long booklet on Korean history, heh). The lead is hot, the costumes are cool, and the production values for battles, stunning. Much better than a kangaroo in a hoodie :)
We saw Avenue Q musical which was awesome, had dinner in fancy restaurant on friday and a Korean place on saturday (thanks to friday's fancy dinner, all we needed was some buns in Chinatown for lunch. Btw, did you know Sicko and Ratattouile are already out on dvd apparently :))
Went to the Metropolitan museum of art which I always love (overheard in Renaissance sculpture gallery, father indignantly asking son: 'is this a nudist beach?' LOL).
Walked around until my feet will fall off (loved the meatpacking district and walking by the river), walked through produce market and then a huge street market, where we got awesome massages and I bought some super cute dresses.
Oh, went on observation platform of Rockfeller Center which is just as cool as Empire State but with no lines.
Basically, a blast!
And out hotel is the cutest thing ever, decorated in 1920s-1930s style.
P.S. I have never seen so many bizarre outfits outside of Tokyo. A cross-dressing clown with a toy poodle looked almost normal by comparison.
