Still on the Bollywood kick: Fanaa
May. 19th, 2006 02:30 pmThe new poster of Fanaa, as well as some pics most have already seen, are behind the cut.
Do you know what I love about Bollywood movies? No matter what else, they are always so full of color!

Kajol is baaaack!

Guuuuuh!

OMG. The pendant Kajol is wearing in this shot is Aamir's (see poster)! What does this mean? Besides the fact that I am obsessive, that is.

Date: 2006-05-19 08:56 pm (UTC)Haha, don't worry, I noticed it as well. There was some seriously out there speculation I read on the Kajol Boards, about how it might be used as some sort of a home-made mangalsutra (you know, the wedding necklace thingy?) but I think if anything, it just means that Aamir's character gives it to Kajol as a token of his luv or something rather typical like that. Still, gotta love Bollywood props like that. The coin in Sholay! Etc.
Mmm. Hi-res Bollywood goodness makes me happy. Now I wish we had some more release dates and stuff. KANK hi-res would be nice. Omkara, too. And especially Eklavya, mmm. Dhoom 2 - haha, maybe not.

Date: 2006-05-19 09:01 pm (UTC)I just hope that the reason Kajol has the necklace is not because it's the only keepsake she has to remember Aamir by or that he gave it to her with his dying breath or something like this.
especially Eklavya, mmm
Yay! There is another person who is really really anticipating Eklavya except for me. I can't wait to see thise pics!
In addition to the ones you listed, I really want to see Guru pics. And Umraao Jaan, but I don't think they are filming the latter yet. And yeah, Dhoom 2 I could live without.

Date: 2006-05-19 09:06 pm (UTC)I'm sure it carries at least some meaning. Would suck if it was just like some sort of an accessory error on the stylist's part. Like "Whoops, had Aamir wear this in a few scenes and now Kajol's wearing it in this one! Damn unisex pendants!".
Actually, Umrao Jaan is already filmed, I think. Guru they are filming atm. So Umrao Jaan release date should be expected. And Eklavya, dude yes. I remember pictures from like fall or something of Saif in his "Eklavya"-look and it looked very nice. And Vidya of course looking stunning and ahh, Sharmila! I'm sure those promo shots will reduce me to keymashing. :)

Date: 2006-05-19 09:12 pm (UTC)I know they are filming Guru *sigh* but for some reason I thought UJ wasn't filmed yet. If it has been, than that's great (maybe I was confusing it with Sahib Biwi aur Ghulam). I really want to see the pics!
Select
Oh yeah, they're both in playing Muslims. Very improbable, in that case.

Heeee. Though to be fair we could just be crazy over-analyzing freaks. :P

Date: 2006-05-19 09:24 pm (UTC)Ugh, I hope the Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam remake doesn't happen. The original is too classic to be remade.
Yeah, my next Nehaflix DVD order is going to have to include Parineeta. I recently sent an e-mail to the organizers of the movie festival that shows BW films and recommended Parineeta as a BW film they should consider to include in their festival line-up next September. I know they'll go for Paheli anyway but I guess there's no harm in trying to recommend other good movies of 2005 for them to consider.
I'm amazed that Saif and Vidya are going to be in two films, first Eklavya and then the YRF film that starts shooting by the end of this year, with Rani as a third star. It's just too good. I wish Eklavya would be out already, though.

Date: 2006-05-19 09:39 pm (UTC)Understandably so. I love Kajol but she is not my No.1 Bolly star and I am hyperventilating over this flick. I can only imagine how they feel.

I haven't seen the original *blush* I must admit I am a bit shallow so I am all "Priyanka. John. Salman. Cool art design." In any event, I am saving all my 'please don't happen please please' energies for RGV's remake of "Sholay."
Paheli anyway but I guess there's no harm in trying to recommend other good movies of 2005 for them to consider.
Exactly. I love Paheli, and on some levels it's a lot more accessible because it's done as a folkloric fairy tale so people would be more accepting of the 'otherness' of Bollywood, but Parineeta was my favorite movie of the last year, hands down, no question, and one of the rare movies I can rewatch ad nauseam so I am all about it.

Wow. I didn't know about the YRF film. Yay! I am so excited. I actually (so far) like Saif/Vidya even better than Abhi/Rani and those were the ones who replaced SRK/Kajol for me, so I am all extatic.
Isn't Eklavya supposed to come out in the fall?

Date: 2006-05-19 09:55 pm (UTC)Word to RGV Sholay remake hate. But then again, everybody in their right mind would oppose that project.
I think I might like Saif-Vidya as much as I like Abhi-Rani. Both are sizzling, of course, but it was also cool to see Abhi-Rani's comedy in BaB. Saif and Vidya in a film with more comedy flavour might really work, as well.
