Before I start. Quick comment. What is with all the recent cooking dramas lately? I am not complaining as hot guy wh can cook is even better than a hot guy in general, but it does seem odd. First there is MatsuJun playing a chef in the jdrama Bambino. Then there is the twdrama Delicious Relationship, starring arguably my favorite drama boy Vic Zhou (and he better not die in this one!!!). And then there are the kdramas. In Witch Yoo Hee, Jae Hee is a Chef *dies* and then there is the upcoming Gourmet with Kim Rae Won where he also plays a chef. Hmmm. I like this trend.
I am considering checking a whole bunch of kdramas out. More about them below, but I think the 'new' kdrama for me will either be My Love Patzzi (it's only 10 eps and fluffy and I have a Kim Rae Won craving), Let's Go to the Beach (
alexandral loved it and I adore Lee Wan) or Smile Again (it sounds cute and stars Lee Dong Gun).

And here is the vid:
And another vid:
And after that, the next kdrama is Save the Last Dance for Me and Stained Glass as I want something utterly utterly fluffy right now so it will have to wait a week or so.
But anyway, dramas I am considering obtaining, with corresponding MVs.
As you see, a lot of numbers for some reason.
My Sister in Law is 19. It has cute boys, cracktastic fun and angst, too. The plot? Our hero is horrified to discover that the girl he has long been in love with has just gotten engaged to his older brother. He doesn't know it's an arranged agreement so she'd have money for her poor family and he'd be free of Mom's nagging to marry. So CUTE!
Then there is Sweet 18.
calledinvain thought it was sweet, it stars Lee Dong Gun and Han Jin Hye, and hey, prosecutor forcibly married off to a much younger girl? Heeeeee.
Then there is Hotelier (as mentioned earlier)
You know, I think I am beginning to get the Bye Yon Joon fuss. I have no idea if he is good-looking, but there is something really magnetic about him.
Then there is 18 vs 29 about a woman who wakes up forgetting everything that happened since she was 18. Her estranged husband tries to use this as an opportunity to win her back.
Then there is The Sweet Spy. A spy drama with the heroine an ass-kicking policewoman? YAY.
Then there is Say You Love Me with Kim Rae Won, because I am on a KRW kick and hey the whole, 'bad girl tries to break up the OTP by getting her bf to seduce the girl and to seduce the guy herself because she is whack' is kinda awesome in a 'Dangerous Liasons' sort of way.
There is also Life if Beautiful with Ha Ji-Won (Damo!!!) and Kim Rae Won but I didn't find any vids. I am also amused by the concept of Love Letter because heeeee, even Priests are not immune from lurve in kdramas. The hero is a Priest-in-training. Whoa.
And last note. My 'in progress' pile of dramas seems to be shrinking.
KOREAN (in order from most interesting to least):
Green Rose: I am seven episodes in. And I really liked it. I think I was going through burn-out at the time, so I stopped. But must start again really soon. Yes.
Sang-Doo, Let's Go to School: see above explanation. Also I wanted something angstier at the time. I know it gets angstier but it didn't hit yet. I am six or so eps in and must continue pronto. I mean, it's Rain!
Loveholic: I am nine eps. And it started dragging. I'll finish it eventually, but I am sort of dreading more angst, even with a happy ending.
TAIWANESE (in order from most interesting to least):
Hana Kimi: I am six eps in. I love every moment of it. I just want to wait a bit and get it on burned DVDs because I hate watching on computer unless I have no choice. This said, I might have to cave in really soon.
Smiling Pasta: I am about five eps in. I really like it, but I keep getting sidetracked by other dramas I fall in love with when this one is 'merely like.'
Tokyo Juliet: I finished ep 12. Unlike a lot of people, I really really like this drama. I am waiting for my DVDs to be shipped and I'll finish it all.
Magic Ring: I am four eps in. Plus? Gorgeous, angsty Joe Cheng. Minus? I hate the heroine and the subs are wonky. I'll finish it eventually but no rush.
Magicians of Love: I am sort of lost at to which ep I am on. Let me say 5? I like it but there is only so much crack and bad fashion you can take. Plus, my subs suck. I am going to get a version with better subs one of these days but no huge hurry.
JAPANESE (in order from most interesting to least):
Beautiful Life: I adore this drama, but I am a wimp, so I haven't finished the last two eps. I will though not really soon because I am still recovering from Snow Queen.
Nobuta Wo Produce: I don't really get the appeal of this but it's OK and I only have two eps, so eventually.
Dramas I haven't finished and never will:
Peach Girl: Arguably one of the worst dramas I've ever seen. Forget it. No freaking way.
Long Vacation: everyone loves it. Everyone but me. I tried for months and never got past ep 3. Maybe a long long time from now I'll try it again, but for now? No way.
Kimi Wa Petto: 7 eps in and I am rather bored still. Time to give up.
Silence: One of the best dramas out there. However, I skipped huge chunks of it because I couldn't deal with the angst. I am never going back to rewatch either because my reaction to Snow Queen is nothing compared to my reaction to the ending of Silence. Yes. I am a wimp.
