This seems to be a movie day. But none of my new anime arrived yet. Not that this has, either.

Recently bought on e-bay and am looking forward to watching Seven Swords, yet another martial arts drama from China.

If nothing else, it promises to be very pretty.

I went to the movies to watch this one (and it was great because we don't usually get Chinese movies and even less of them in original version with subtitles).
In general I kind of liked the movie but I'm still not totally convinced by the result. It's a Tsui Hark movie, so I knew there would be a bit of blood and those things, and well that part, I didn't enjoy it too much... the rest, especially the cast was very good.
I still think the movie received cuts here and there (at least in the version showed here) so I'm sure it will make more sense if they release a more complete version in dvd.
I went to watch it because I like Leon Lai very much and he was teh pretty in the movie (Donnie Yen and the Korean actress too!).

Yes, this movie certainly has a lot of pretty people in it. I hope I'll like (I don't mind the blood at all). I got a Chinese version with English subs, so no idea if there will be any cuts (please, please NO!).

I don't usually mind the blood, maybe is the way it's shown.

Yup, it has English subtitles. Basically, any movie I talk about that isn't either in English or Russian will have English subtitles because otherwise I won't understand it.

I saw this, and yet apparently either my mind does not remember much of it, or it really did receive significant cuts, because I completely did not recognize the first, like... half of the screenshots. :D;

It was an all right movie, although some of the characters--mostly one of the female characters (the villager, not the swordswoman or the slave) made me scream in frustration. '_' The dual-wielding swordsman is prettiest, I feel. ~_~ And the Korean that Donnie Yen tries to speak made me laugh. A lot. Probably not in the way they intended.

(Is the shot of the two in the cornfield really part of it? It seems out of place, somehow, and I /really/ don't remember that at all.)

I've seen it as part of SS screenshots on more than one webcite, so I assume it is. Haven't seen the movie yet myself.
