An Eye Candy AND a Movie Rec Post
Jan. 27th, 2006 08:05 pmIn honor of
koalathebear making it back to Australia safely, I bring you pic spam from one of the movies she likes (and she isn't the only one :P), House of Flying Daggers. What is is about? Well, love, and fighting, and some gorgeous gorgeous colors. It's one of the three big imports of the period/wuxia (is that the term?) Chinese movies into the US and it's as hyper-personal as Hero is about the abstract over the individual (a big reason I prefer HoFD to Hero).
This pic spam is naturally a bit biased, as while Andy Lau is a fine actor, I am still bitter about what he did to Tony Leung in Infernal Affairs. Kidding.Sorta. It's just Takeshi Kaneshiro, the other male lead, really does it for me. Oh, and of course plenty of Zhang Ziyi. I am sure I duplicated a few shots within the post but I am tired and don't want to edit for the umpteenth time. I am sure you won't mind looking at some pretty twice.

Date: 2006-01-28 07:21 am (UTC)I must admit, I am rather partial to Ziyi Zhang's acting. She made this movie for me, in my opinion.
I think I might like Hero better though, just because it is absolutely gorgeous to look at, and I like the way the story was told. /shrug/ Both definitely deliciously good, though.
