A Love to Kill: eps 13-14

I love the scene where ES finally asks Bokgu (they are temporarily stuck together, long story): "It wasn't all about revenge, was it? Weren't there times where you really worried for me? Weren't there times where you really cared for me? Weren't there times when I really hurt you? Times when I made you happy?" And he doesn't say anything but you can see it all in his face and as he looks after her, yuo see her walk off and she is smiling and repeating: "I knew it. I knew it...."
Of course, then she finds out that Mingu is alive and decides to take him away, out of all that guilt. And Bokgu was keeping the news from her partly because he can't bear to see her with his brother (I love how he tells Mingu that it took him (Bokgu) so long to forget it, and 'don't do it to me') but it's also because he genuinely wants her to have a life, and what kind of a life is it looking after someone like Mingu? (Love the scene where he tells that to Mingu). When he tells ES that he wronged her and that he would die if she'd ask him, but she should leave Mingu alone it's....eeeee!
I love the whole interlude where he shows up at her house for Mingu's bday. And as she comes into Mingu's bedroom where Bokgu already is, as she is ready to leave, he grabs her hand and gives her back the amulet she gave him. And I love how he is caressing her hand, and doesn't want to let it go and then it sinks in, and he drops it, abruptly.
And then he and Da Jeong and that annoying curly haired guy get hammered, and he keeps telling DJ that he is so happy she is with him (because she is such an important part of his defenses. Btw, I hate DJ more and more. Whichever way it ends, as long as she doesn't get Bokgu, I am happy). And then he goes for cigarettes and finds ES in the store, just drinking by herself. And I love that whole scene, where there is all this love and pain and regret for both of them. And he sees her hands are chapped (this is the wintriest show I've ever seen) and he just starts throwing boxes and boxes of latex gloves and hand lotion on the counter and buys them all for her. And she drops the bottle she is drinking (because she is so off-kilter by his presence) and cuts her finger, and he unthinkingly takes her hand and sticks the finger in his moth to suck on the wound (btw, that is HOT!) and she jerks her hand back as if burned. And when he tries to put the bandaid on it, she doesn't want to be touched at first. And throughout all this, there are scary scary levels of eye fucking. This show is like the eye fucking central.
And on the walk back she tells him it's too hard for her to face him, and please to never come back. So he doesn't wait for morning but calls a taxi service. The leads have psycho chemistry. I just love the scene where he is leaving (with drunk Da Jeong in tow) and he thinks he won't see her again and they just bown to each other but they keep looking and looking and looking...
I love how when ES gets into the house, she holds the finger with the band-aid, the one he held in his mouth, to her lips.
And then of course Mingu goes all weird (probably because he feels guilty, in his addled brain, for keeping ES around and is trying to drive her out) and ES keeps getting hit or have things thrown at her and is all battered (but of course lovely DJ forgets to mention this to Bokgu. UGH). And I rather like the parallelism because Bokgu is in one of his matches and he is just getting the crap kicked out of him because he just wants to be hit. And then he goes to work and keeps on going until there is nothing to do because I think the physical pain and the business atleast drive other things away.
I love the fiance (who I am totally crushing on, now) after finding out about what Mingu is doing to ES, going and punching Bokgu, telling him that if he loves her, he should take ES away (DJ, watch and learn, OK?) And thus Bokgu finds out about the violence stuff and he finds ES outside the emergency room and he touches her face (guuuuuh) and he keeps telling her 'look at me, Bokgu, not my brother' and tells her to leave them both and go. And she walks into the road, right into the pathway of the oncoming truck and she looks at the approaching lights and then at Bokgu and asks 'shall we end this, then?' and OMG OMG OMG OMG, he just walks out to her and just holds her really tight, as the truck speeds towards them.

But of course the truck stops and the OTP decide they aren't even free to die.
I love that the fiance tells the annoying DJ that ES and Bokgu shouldn't waste their lives out of guilt or pity. And when DJ yells 'Bokgu and Mingu are brothers, Bokgu will be punished!' he retorts 'so what, at least he'll have the love of his life first.' YAY. Now if only the annoying DJ got hit by a truck and got her brain screwed on right.
Annoying Mingu is into having both of them stay in the house. Well, at least more long angsty stares. And there is lots. And then Mingu is supposed to die and I am totally cheering. Yay for fictional relapses. He's been annoying me for 14 eps! And I love how ES crumbles and Bokgu just holds her, really tightly, and ES's stepmom (understandably) keeps hitting him but he just holds ES tighter and tighter...
I am a bad person, but there was cheering when Mingu bought it.
I have to say, maybe it's because I am tired, but I think somewhere around beginning of 14, my angst capacity got maxed out. I think this is now still a huge favorite but is second behind Mars.
