Sign of Veronica Mars-induced insanity. While walking back from lunch, I saw a yellow xTerra and tried to crane my neck who was in it (two 20-something girls, no Logan, alas).

And as living proof that I can multi-obsess with the best of them, this post has nothing to do with Veronica Mars or Dark Angel, or the hideous pain that is One Tree Hill.

Instead, this post is all Bollywood, baby!

More specifically, this is a post dedicated to gorgeous yummy picspam on two unrelated topics. First off, continuing my "beautiful women of Bollywood" posts, I bring you picspam of Lara Dutta, a Bolly actress (star of Barsaat, Elaan, Mumbai Se Aya Mera Dost etc who I think is gorgeous.

Sample (Being sexy in Elaan):

Irresitable as a Village Landlord's sister in Mumbai Se Aya Mera Dost

Angsty with Akshay Kumar in Andaaz

Dangerous When Wet in Masti

Blinged Out in Elaan:

Lookin' Classy in Bardaasht:

Dancer in love with John Abraham's (sorta) reformed gangster in the very fun Elaan:

Being sporty in Andaaz with Akshay Kumar

Does she jingle when she walks? Elaan

Sepia in Mumbai Se Aya Mera Dost

And secondly, I bring you even prettier picspam in the shape of pictures of one of my favorite Bolly jodis (for non-Bolly friends, "jodi" is a word to describe a movie pairing, chemistry, whatnot between a movie couple, e.g. in discussing Star Wars I might discuss Natalie Portman/Hayden Christensen jodi). Bollywood seems to like having actor "teams" and likes to repeat successful combos often. The movie couple in question? Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra. They have been in 4 movies together. I've seen all four and they sizzed in all of them (perhaps too much. Mrs. Kumar apparently put a kibosh on further movies between the two).

Sample:
Enjoy yourself, people. Melodrama is about to hit (Waqt)

The rest are behind the cut.

Whoa, Baby! Poster for Aitraaz

Prettily celebrating Holi in Waqt

That's not what *I* would do with a pregnant woman, but who am I to say (Waqt again)

Awwwww. Waqt

Woman On Top. Aitraaz

Akshay is a pilot in love with another, and Priyanka a good-hearted party girl trying to win his heart in Andaaz

Being wet and sexy in Waqt

Steaming up the windows in Aitraaz

It's just Priyanka by herself, but I love this pic. Aitraaz

Priyanka Chopra is really gorgeous! I've just seen her in Mujshe Shaadi Karogi and Ashanbav (spelling?) ... OMG! This reminds me that I have to catch up on the large pile of bollywood dvds my friend Nati lent me a couple of weeks ago!

Didn't know you liked Bollywood! Yay!

Asambhav is a hideously bad movie, made tolerable enough not to gnaw my own head off only by Priyanka's presence.

Of all the movies I've seen her in, Karam with John Abraham is by far the best though...

Asambhav is a bad bad one... from the title credits (OMG!) until the end credits... and what's with the bad guy and his dyed hair! And there's one fight which I find absolutely hilarious. Hee!

I like Bollywood a lot, but I don't own many movies... Too many fandoms and too limited budget :(. But fortunately I have a couple of friends who buy lots of Bollywood movies and I end up borrowing them XD...

The ones I have now are: Munna Bhai MBBS, Hum Tum, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, Mela, Baazi, Paap, Tere Naam, Awara Paagal Deewana, Baadshah, and Aankhen. Now I just need time to watch them all!

I haven't seen Karam, but IIRC I have the soundtrack (in mp3) somewhere!

Asambhav is just...the slutty veiled ladies are about the highlight.

I own tons of Bolly movies because...obsessive.

Out of the ones you listed:

Munnabhai is hilarious. Even my non-Bolly-loving husband adores it. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Hum Tum is romantic and sweet and rather sophisticated (esp for Bolly romance).

Tere Naam is one of my all-time favorite Bolly movies.

Paap is wonderful (there is a long review of it somewhere in my past entries). It's a remake of Witness but still totally worthwhile, for the scenery and the HOT.

Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge: it's a sweet, funny piece of fluff. No more, no less.

Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge: I really like it. It has a fun twisty plot and incredible songs. It has the usual OTT violence though.

Mela: ugh. Yuck. Not enough words for how bad it is.

I don't care for Badshah, but liking that movir depends on your liking for slapstick (I am not so much into it).

I haven't seen Baazi, APD or Aankhen.

I still think that Lara Dutta in that first MSAMD pic looks like an older Amrita Rao. But that's just me. :)

I think it's more her expression than anything. You can make two Amritas out of Lara :P

And she just looks really South Indian in general in that pic. :)
