Veronica Mars season finale is a gift that keeps on giving. I keep randomly remembering bits of it during the day and I am all gleeful and happy and grinning like a lunatic at nothing. And you don't want to know how many times I've rewatched the last 10 minutes. It's fast approaching to double digits. But Logan. And Veronica. And how she stumbles into his arms after Cassidy jumps off, like she needs him to hold her up, to take care of her (for once), and they are both OMG so devastated and so relieved and so fucked up and falling apart and sticking together and OMG. Also, how crazy, if Keith had bought it on that plane, they would have lost their fathers the same night. And every time I forget about the glee, the Pieta thing pops into my head and I am beyond gleeful again and I have learned the art of ff-ing to the second past the boringness of Wallace/Jackie (she can be telling him she has been alien-abducted and all I'd be thinking is 'how are your lips not falling off under the weight of all this lip-gloss") into the Pieta pose. And how neat that on the roof, Cassidy is yet again confronted that it's not about him, not even after all his crimes, it's about Veronica. No attention yet again. As someone on TWoP mentioned, Veronica accuses him of the worst things imaginable: mass murder, murder of her dad, raping her, and what is Logan's reaction? "You are not a killer, Veronica." Logan ignores Cassidy, other than as a threat to Veronica's soul. It's all about Veronica, no attention to Cassidy. Heh. And sad, too. Because that was one irretrievably broken boy. The more I am learning about these families, the more it appears Logan is one of the sanest guys in Neptune which is VERY VERY scary.

And the first great post 2.22 fic is beginning to hit, too.

Btw, I want to use 2.22 icons. Shippy ones, not 'identity of the killer' ones. I think everyone on my flist who is into VM has already watched VM either on TV or on torrent. But if not, speak up and I will restrain self for another week, as don't want to spoil anyone.

And thinking about Firefly and "Our Mrs. Reynolds" it occured to me that Mal is an egalitarian but in a specific way. He hates inequality only as someone from a classist society could. It's a sort of lower-middle-class-chip-on-shoulder attitude in a 19th century or turn of 20th century England. And I love that he doesn't like helpless and weak and tries to get them to be strong (as with Saffron). After all, everyone on his ship, even River in her crazy way, is ultimately a strong indiviudal and his OTP Inara is no weak damsel in distress.
