I can't wait to see this movie -- mainly because of Clive. But, I also expect it to be one of the cheesiest movies I have seen in a long time. What is your honest opinion of what this movie will be like?
They had this scene with Britney Murphy and Clive and I think it is cool how they colored some things while keeping others black and white. Very Film Noir.
Well, I am a sucker for visual looks, so if a movie has a visual look I find pleasing, I am willing to let a lot of things slide (just as I would if I liked the writing style in a book). And this movie has an amazing visual look.
I also don't mind gore and nudity (which is lucky). And I love not just Clive, but Benicio del Toro as well. But I would have seen it regardless of who was in it.
Cheesy? I don't know. It seems too grim and miserable to be cheesy. Plus, I love film noire stuff (that this reminds me of) so I probably won't think cheesy but homage. But who knows...
Woo-hoo. I might actually have to wait till next weekend because a friend wants to go together. Though if it gets too unbearable, I'll see it this weekened and then will go with her anyway.
Clive & Vicki Bliss (which I searched for, being a new member & wondering who else out there likes Elizabeth Peters) - excellent picks for your journal! :)
Thanks! I adore Vicki books and wish she'd write more (I would love to find out what happened to John and Vicki (also how John is related to the Emerson)). Though at least Night Train to Memphis ended up on a closed enough note that I am not dying to find out what happened.
