The scene with Helo and Sharon looking at their newborn is adorable. And Sharon telling Helo how completely she loves him. Adorable. And (in retrospect) very very sad. I found myself quite angry at Roslin, though I see why she thought what she did (I vaccilate between liking her one week and disliking her the next). Though it did provide for that gorgeous, beautiful, heartbreaking scene of Helo (on a ship with Tyrol! How much do I love the Chief?) scattering what he thinks are the ashes of his child into space, with that music. The scene of Sharon completely losing it on 'seeing' her baby dead and lunging for Cottle throat was hard to watch.

I am actually afraid (completely unspoiled spec) she is about to buy since the Galactica Boomer is back into the story and Caprica Sharon's story seems to have played out. I love G-Boomer and her new strength of purpose (please, please, I want to see Tyrol come face to face with her). But don't kill Caprica Sharon, please! Will she turn against humans? Of course. The only thing stopping her is her love for Helo, who, no matter what, won't betray humans. He and Tyrol are two of the genuinely decent and nice people in the show. Sharons have good taste in men. Actually, why didn't Roslin include him in her little "what shall we do about the little half-Cylon baby" meetings. He IS human and he IS the father. Roslin's being increasingly autocratic and off-hand. The other choice is the crazy traitor Baltar which is worse, though. But the indignant, righteous, snarky Baltar in Six's head? Is all sorts of hot. He is like the British, froofy version of Crichton inside the chip inside Scorpy's head in that one Farscape ep: all bitter, nihilistic and sharp. Also, the thought of Baltar as Cylon Moses is just...how much do I love this show?

When is the new Veronica Mars ep supposed to air? I know it's some time in March, but when?

I have also been thinking about Brokeback Mountain. It looks like it's a shoo-in for Best Pic but I can't get into it at all. In thinking about it, I realized it's not because of the gay part (hey, formerly rabid CLex shipper here), it's because of the cowboy part. I just don't find cowboys very interesting, especially when they just sit and stare and say a word an hour and count sheep. Now if they made a sequel in which Heath Ledger decides to move to LA and take on and hunt homophobes becoming a cowboy vigilante and Jake Gyllenhal becomes his ghostly, seen-only-by-him advisor who helps him fight ("don't kick him in the leg! Aim higher!") and they angst about not being able to touch, I'd be all about it. They could call it Brokeback Mountain 2: The Revenge of the Brokeback.

In news not connected at all, but amusing me incredibly, a man in Sudan has been ordered to marry a goat. Let's hope they are happy.

Sudan man forced to 'marry' goat

A Sudanese man has been forced to take a goat as his "wife", after he was caught having sex with the animal.
The goat's owner, Mr Alifi, said he surprised the man with his goat and took him to a council of elders.

They ordered the man, Mr Tombe, to pay a dowry of 15,000 Sudanese dinars ($50) to Mr Alifi.

"We have given him the goat, and as far as we know they are still together," Mr Alifi said.

Mr Alifi, Hai Malakal in Upper Nile State, told the Juba Post newspaper that he heard a loud noise around midnight on 13 February and immediately rushed outside to find Mr Tombe with his goat.

"When I asked him: 'What are you doing there?', he fell off the back of the goat, so I captured and tied him up".

Mr Alifi then called elders to decide how to deal with the case.

"They said I should not take him to the police, but rather let him pay a dowry for my goat because he used it as his wife," Mr Alifi told the newspaper.

In other news, the first pictures from the new Bond movie set are on the Net. I loved Daniel Craig in Layer Cake (a great, underrated British gem) and Moll Flanders but who knew he was so buff. Check out the EYE CANDY:

Any rec for romantic adventure/fantasy anime? By that I mean anime that is kinda Fushigi Yuugi-like: it has things like complicated plot and fights or mysteries and a romance that's not all unspoken/implied but is an important part of the story...

I am also considering changing all my icons to Lord of the Rings ones. I do love that trilogy like no other.
