Movies I am eager to see
Nov. 3rd, 2005 01:56 pmIf I manage to get out of work before 10 pm, I am going to see Where the Truth Lies, an Atom Egoyan film with Colin Firth, Kevin Bacon and Alison Lohman. I've been reading some good things about it. I am rather amused as I see it's listed as "Not Rated." That's because otherwise it was going to be NC-17 for a scene of a threesome, because apparently the MPAA has some really bizarre rules about how many thrusts you can show uninterrupted (I think 3 or more=NC-17) and Egoyan tried really hard to film it so it'd be R-rated and then just gave up. :P
Also, I just saw the poster for The White Countess and WHOA.
I want to see it. So badly. It's a Merchant-Ivory film set in Shanghai of the 1930s and involves a blind former American Diplomat played by *swoon* Ralph Fiennes and an impoverished Russian emigre noblewoman played by Natasha Richardson. There are a few reviews out and they are good.

I have also found this FYC Poster for Walk the Line which also has excellent reviews and tons of Oscar buzz.
