dangermousieI've tried to come up with a list for what we know about the Bus Crash Mystery and the less important, but still out there, Who Killed Felix mystery. Spoilers up until the ep shown earlier this week (Blast from the Past). Let me know if I missed anything. I'll keep modifying it as we learn more stuff.
The Bus Crash
FACT: On a way back from field trip, a school bus, its driver, a journalism teacher, and a number of students went off the road into the sea. (2.1)
FACT: The bus driver did not crash the bus as a suicide. (2.2)
FACT: Right before the bus crashed, there was an explosion on the bus (2.5)
FACT: Logan was loitering around the bus before it went on its trip. He also told Veronica "I am going to miss you." Why? (whether just a dig because he is off boinking Kendelia or something more sinisterplease no) We don't know (2.1)
FACT: Dick complained of a funny smell at the back of the bus on the way there. Obnoxiousness or clue? You decide. (2.1)
FACT: Veronica, Duncan, Dick, Beaver and Gia were also supposed to be on that bus. However, all except Veronica went back with Dick and Beaver in the limo their Dad sent for them. (2.1)
FACT: Dick also asked Veronica and Meg Manning, Duncan's former girlfriend, both of whom declined. Dick did not try to persuade (2.1)
FACT: Veronica took too long talking to Weevil at a rest stop and Meg knew Veronica was being left behind and let it happen (whether as is the obvious reason, because she was pissed about "boyfriend theft" or some other reason, we don't know). (2.1)
FACT: Only one person survived, Meg Manning. She is in a coma (2.2)
FACT: Meg's parents blame Duncan and Veronica for Meg not being in the limo. Whether it's just grief, or something else, we don't know. (2.4)
FACT: Meg had some secrets that would cause her parent to "pull the plug" (at least according to her sister Lizzie) on her laptop. Duncan does not seem surprised by that. We don't know what these secrets are about. (2.4)
FACT: A man named Curly Moran, with a long police record, who was one of the mourners at the crash site, washed up beaten to death, with Veronica Mars' name written on his hand (2.2, 2.3)
FACT: Curly Moran knew Aaron Echolls, was the stunt coordinator on a movie with him that had a similar crash, and had a signed photo of Aaron and himself among his possessions. (2.3)
FACT: Aaron might have a good reason to want Veronica dead, as she landed him behind bars and might be an important witness against him. (1.22)
FACT: Last place Curly was seen was at a Biker Bar, where the cops found Weevil's earring (2.3)
FACT: One of the people killed in the crash was Servando, a member of the PCH biker gang, led by Weevil (2.2)
FACT: According to Weevil, Servando had some trouble with Fighting Fitzpatricks, an Irish mob group. (2.4)
FACT: Weevil got a call that said that Curly Moran was behind the bus crash, and that he was hired by Fighting Fitzpatricks, to get back at Servando. Weevil, at least, thinks it's unlikely FF are behind the bus crash. (2.4)
FACT: The phone call that Weevil got was from Aaron Echolls' house, which has no one living there now except for Logan and the staff (2.4)
FACT: It's not from a phone line that is used often (Echollses have five phone lines), as the phone just "rings and rings" whenever Weevil tried calling back, and it's not a number Veronica recognizes, and as Logan's ex, I'd imagine she'd know the main numbers. (2.4)
FACT: The date and time of the call are during Logan's "Life is Short" party which he threw on Aaron's birthday (heh) and which had half of Neptune present: 09ers, PCH + Weevil who crashed the party, Lamb+cops who came by to collect the kegs (and probably break up a fight or seven). (2.4)
Where does it leave us? Nowhere much, so far, except that I am sure Logan will get accused yet again. Though hopefully not by Veronica and hopefully not because he did do it. Also, I wonder if this is connected to Felix' murder (see below) and if Aaron really has anything to do with it. Oh yeah, and what kind of an explosion was it and what's on Meg's laptop.
Who Killed Felix
On the night of Aaron Echolls' arrest, Felix, Weevil's second in command, ended up dead because of stab wound(s) on the Coronado Bridge at some point during the bikers' confrontation with Logan. Who killed him, and more importantly, why and how is it connected to the bus crash? I am assuming, of course, that Logan is telling the truth and did not kill Felix. It seems a safe assumption. For one thing, Logan's pretty honest generally, for another, how would he get away with it, surrounded by a gang kicking the shit out of him and live? Even if we assume that it's Logan who is telling the flashback and thus is an unreliable narrator, we have medical records indicating broken ribs and a concussion, hardly the state (outside of Bollywood movies) in which to take on a gang in a knife-fight.
To the best of our knowledge, Weevil was unconscious during the fight and does believe Logan did it, and I do wonder about the motorist who called for help and then dissappeared. Shady.
