Yay! After a bit of a shaky start, the show I love is back better than ever! Weeeeee!

The snark is back! Yes! So is the Veronica from Season 1 that I love: sassy, snarky, hard-nosed and PIing.

Surprisingly, I didn't hate Duncan in this ep. He had emotions and we see that he does control them rigidly but the undercurrents (as in that fight with Logan) are so there. Duncan and Veronica? Not my ship of choice, but she did go for comfort to him at the end, so good. Plus, they inspired Logan's "I lost my appetite comment." (with a dramatic sandwich-throw, no less. It bothers him, he covers it up with an extravagant action. The boy is such a drama queen).

Loved Veronica-Lamb scenes. So much good snark. I also love that you can see in that scene that Veronica's toughness is not absolute. Her youth and vulnerability peep out.

And speaking of Daddy Mars? He and Veronica=cute. He and Alicia, also. But I do wonder what secret Alicia has that has the cops after her. I'll need a notebook to keep track of this year's mysteries.

OK, so are PCH bikers tied in with the bus crash? Because the dead guy=biker, and PCH=bikers, and yes, I know the Aaron connection, but I wonder if there is something more there. This said, when we saw that pic of Dead Guy with Aaron, I literally screamed. Oh Gosh, how I'd love for Aaron to be involved and come back. (Also, one of the other pics, was the Dead Guy there with Weevil's new clinch's Dad?)

Second favorite scene of the ep: Duncan-Logan fight. Because it really had to explode sooner or later. Logan has so many issues with Duncan, and I love that Veronica is not the primary one, but his best friend's abandoning him in his hour (or summer) of crisis is. Because Logan feels alone and betrayed and I don't think Dick is a good substitute for Duncan. And yes, Veronica is the cherry on top of that sundae, but I love that they dealt with the whole "my dad killed your sister" thing. And I also love that Duncan responds that the reason he couldn't be there for Logan is because Logan's Dad killed his sister. Because...yes. None of this is Logan's fault, but I can see Duncan's version here too, and I love knowing that he does have emotions, however hard he tries to supress them.

I do love Logan's eyes watering a bit at the end of that scene and the nurse misinterpreting it and thinking it's because of the cuts. And his desolate "I hate him too" made me want to hug the TV. Because Aaron? Is totally going to burn in special hell reserved for beyond awful parents.

I also liked how Logan and Duncan's differing perceptions of Veronica came to the fore during that scene. Because Duncan still thinks of her as V 1.0, but Logan's comment that she might probably like them fighting, while bitter, is probably closer to the truth, as the girl is no swooning damsel.

OK? Big Dick. Totally crook but I don't feel sorry for his investors, because nothing reasonable offers 35% returns. Nice to know Kendall is helpful wifey, other than screwing Logan. And how sad is it that Beaver tried to do this to win his father's love but screwed it all up for Big Dick so he ain't getting that love after all.

I love that as soon as Veronica realized it was Logan who was sleeping with Kendall she looked for the harddrive. And her expression when she realized Cassidy took it? Concerned. She definitely still cares for Logan (heck, she even asked Dick where he was). She even called him to warn him. I love that scene as Logan tries really hard to conceal the interest he feels in Veronica calling him when he is with Kendall. He plays it exactly right (he obviously couldn't have taken the call), but you can tell he has more interest in Veronica ringing than naked Kendall all over him.

And so we come to my most favorite scene of all: Veronica coming to Logan's house and confronting him. I love that she doesn't take the high ground (as she should not, as they are not dating any more), but being Veronica sublimates her concern and even potential jealousy into practical concern, i.e. Big Dick gunning for Logan. That whole scene is brilliant, neither is apologetic or even giving in much, but you can tell their chemistry is spiking like crazy and there is the whole other undercurrent there: hurt, longing, regret.

I also think that Veronica really hit on it when she said Logan has a death wish. Because I totally think he does (and hey, he trashed his room? Understandable). He doesn't really have anything in his life he cares about. And it's a lot more pleasant to die by Kendall (by proxy) than by biker gang beating you to death. It's not that he'd hang himself or similar, but that he really doesn't care and tempts fate. Also, that realization by Veronica that Dead Guy worked with Aaron and did that stunt off the cliff? Whoa, Aaron really wanted to bump her off. Or is it what they want us to think? But if Aaron is involved, it definitely rules Logan out, as I don't think Logan would cooperate with Aaron, even if it's to save the world from extinction.

My only complaint is: What the hell was with the karaoke musical number? This isn't One Tree Hill.
