Matt Roush of TV Guide on Veronica Mars
Oct. 7th, 2005 09:48 pmOK, it's now official. The two best shows currently on TV are airing opposite each other: ABC's fabulous Lost and UPN's remarkable Veronica Mars.
[...]
Ditto for Veronica Mars, which is as low on the ratings chart as Lost is high atop it. (Although by UPN's standards, it could be doing lots worse, considering.) As cult in its allure as Lost is mass in its appeal, Veronica is churning its own grief-drenched puzzles with confidence, wit and sharp emotional resonance.
The big mystery — who's responsible for sending the school bus over the cliff, and who were the intended victims (Veronica, we presume, but the list also includes everyone in the limo) — is fraught with intensity, and our heroine's first task was a good one: clearing the bus driver of suicide charges (not that the bonehead sheriff took notice). Also fun to see Wallace getting into Hardy Boys mode to impress the new girl.
And Logan! "FYI, if the cuddling's the best part, he didn't do it right." What a jerk he is to his ex-girlfriend. If he wasn't so tragic and adorable in his own right, you'd want to slug him. But you know it's true: Duncan simply doesn't make the earth move.
Dangermousie: heeeee
