I do some further musing on Veronica and Logan. Ahhh, it's good to have a new obsession.

I've seen a few people call Veronica horrible for breaking up with Logan.

Why?

I am all for Logan+Veronica=4evah, rainbows and puppies, but I don't think V ditching makes her a horrible bitch. After all, much as I feel bad for Logan who has no one, she is entitled to want to be happy. Only very saintly people are willing to subnegate their happiness for another. And it's clearly making her happier to be with Duncan. Duncan is low maintenance. She can choose the pace, have no worries, etc. Logan, because of his massive (and understandable) issues is extremely high maintenance.

It's romantic in fiction, but in RL it's exhausting to deal with people who have constant issues and are in the process of dealing with them. Veronica doesn't strike me as a type to want to be an all-the-time shrink and comforter, and Logan's "sole light in a dark universe." That's overwhelming. I can't blame her for wanting to have a relationship that is basically about fun and not rife with issues.

It's actually pretty impressive that she stuck around after Logan as much as admitted to her he was suicidal on the bridge (in the "who is at the door" scene). Because dealing with that? Dealing with the guy who thought that? That's a LOT to take on.

And then of course, Logan, whether because out of desperation or sheer gratitude, or what, seems to be holding on too desperately. Not good, because it's too much too fast for Veronica.

Some people really love being needed (Padme in Star Wars), but I don't think Veronica does. She doesn't want to be someone's savior or link to the world, or whatever. She just wants normal and uncomplicated fun and I don't think it's a horrible thing to want at 18.

In completely unrelated news, Shahrukh Khan pictures. Lots of them.

For those who don't know, my favorite movie actor in the whole entire world (yes, I am 10, why do you ask) happens to be Indian, soon to turn 40, and the biggest superstar of Bollywood. His name is Shahrukh Khan. At first glance, he is not what I generally find hot in a man: he is not very tall, there is no blond hair, blue or gree eyes, and his features are far from classically handsome. But 10 minutes into movie of his I forget all about that. And an hour into a film, I begin to think he is the handsomest man I've ever seen. He's funny, he can dance up a storm, he can make you cry when he does, and he simply is the most intense thing I've ever seen on any screen. When he is on, you can't tear your eyes away. Don't believe me? Check out "Asoka," "Veer-Zaara," "Swades," "Devdas," or "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai."

Anyway, this was a really long intro. Here are some pictures of the sexy sexy Shahrukh in pink. Mostly.

My favorite of the bunch. No idea what he is doing here, but I like it:

Mmmm, do intense, baby!

Eyes!

I don't care about the vest. Should be off!

Shiny!

And to finish off with something completely off the wall, movie meme:

Dangermousie in Homogenised
Hailed as spicy and well done, Homogenised is a look into the lives of predatory [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie (Britney Spears), brilliant [livejournal.com profile] crumpeteer (Sarah Michelle Gellar), and—with a fantastic hairstyle—[livejournal.com profile] thelana (Cameron Diaz). After a series of candle-lit caresses, luck will play a large part in their journey. See it at IMAX for the full cinema experience.
