To add another movie to Dangermousie's most anticipated (a list that is already as long as Elastogirl's arms): Beowulf and Grendel. I am sure most of us suffe...errrrr, enjoyed Beowulf in school, but to sum it up: Early Norse hero fights wicked monster (and his Mum). There should be no limit to Medieval movies, I say!
Despite not caring for Beowulf the poem in school, I am excited about the movie for three reasons:
1. It's filmed in Iceland, currently my No 1 destination to go to.
2. I was bored with Beowulf in High School but I fell in love with Icelandic Sagas in college. And this (even though not Icelandic in origin) is very close to seeing one on a movie screen.
3. Medieval movies are good. When they star Gerard Butler then they are even more so.
What follows is a whole BUNCH of pics from the movie. If you have dial-up, beware. But it's well worth the loading time, I promise.
Beowulf himself:

Looks like he is unheroically wearing a blanket:

Or half a dozen:

But that doesn't stop the fighting skills:

Mmmmm, I want the armor:

Beowulf and friend eagerly scan the horizon for a barber:

Getting tired of waiting, Beowulf desides to do it himself:

Disembarking:

That looks like some frat parties I've seen:

If all Vikings looked like that, there'd be no need for raping and pillaging:

Fiiiiiight (i.e. Dangermousie's favorite parts):

For some reason, this reminds me of the ride to Helm's Deep:

Gaaaah, I love the Early Medieval style of armor:

And they are being really good about helmets and the whole warrior shebang. I love it:

Beowulf, don't pout!

Nifty:

I want to go to Iceland. Now.

This face has character. But it seems to lack teeth:

Monster Fodder?

Costume love:

Btw, love the screenname. Any brit actor in particular? I could never settle for just one.
