On the heels of yucky news that Orlando Bloom might be the next "young" Bond, comes an even yuckier news: Clive Owen is the next Bond instead (or are they going to to two *shudder* simultaneously?). Whyyyyyyyyy? I loathe Bond and no actor could make me go see a Bond movie. But the thought of Clive Owen (or any other actor I remotely like) wasting themselves in a Bond series and getting typecast for eternity is horrid, horrid, horrid. Couldn't they sign Ashton Kuchner? That way I'd say good riddance!

I hate the Bond series as well, but I love Pierce Brosnan! He's British! I was talking to a friend the other day, and I decided that it would be awesome if James Bond was somehow a girl because then there would be new male eyecandy every single goshdarn movie.

They were thinking of doing a spin-off at one point, starring Halle Berry but it fell through.

Even with a female Bond and male eye-candy, my view of the Bond franchise is: yuck. I like explosions and adrenaline, but only where there are genuine consequences and emotions involved.
