Top 10 TV Kisses
Feb. 15th, 2006 05:48 pmI was reading an article that listed Top 10 TV kisses and I realized I'd seen exactly two out of the list. So I decided to compile my own. No Order, since I couldn't rank them, honestly. Also, what are yours?
1. Veronica Mars/Logan Echolls, VM. Kiss at the Camelot. It's a kiss completely out of the blue. She aims for his cheek to thank him for rescuing her and hits his mouth instead. As she is pulling away, he pulls her to him and they go into a full-on kiss, with the camera spinning around them, and they appearing as startled by this as I was.
2. John Crichton/Aeryn Sun, Farscape. Kiss in Season of Death: That kiss, right after they acknowledge their love for the first time, literally brings both of them to their knees. Me too.
3. John Crichton/Aeryn Sun, Farscape. (They are my favorite TV OTP and ergo appear on this list twice). Kiss in Twice Shy. They have sorted out their issues, and while publically breaking up, they are kissing sweetly and quietly in the hallway with all the pent-up giddiness of love denied and repressed for ages. And from then on, they are together.
4. Max Evans/Liz Parker, Roswell. Kiss in Heatwave. There are hotter kisses between them on the show (the kisses on the counter with strawberry bowl falling come to mind), but this first kiss between the star-crossed pair is my favorite. As he finally gives in to his feelings for her and pulls her into him for the kiss, her feet completely leave the ground as he kisses her and holds her at the same time.
5. Buffy Sommers/Angel, Buffy. I am a sucker for angst and what is angstier than Buffy kissing Angel in S2's Becoming right before she has to send him to Hell to save the world and crying.
6. Miaka/Tamahome, Fushigi Yuugi. The music box kiss. As Miaka and Tamahome hide from soldiers in a disused storeroom, Tamahome finally admits what he feels for Miaka and pulls her to him, kissing her in the shadows as a dusty music box plays a lyrical, haunted tune and Yui, heart-broken, spies on them from behind the door.
7. Kara Thrace/Lee Adama, BSG. They are both drunk and all of a sudden things get hot and heavy. But then they stop because they both dysfunctional. And then Lee tells Kara that she can handle dead guys but not living ones. Kara slaps him. And then kisses him, a real, passionate kiss. And walks off.
8. Max Guevara/Logan Cale, Dark Angel. After months of not being able to touch each other they lost their one chance to do so. Her beeper goes off, and the time's up. If he touches her he dies. And then after that Logan very deliberately leans over and kisses Max because he doesn't care if he lives or dies and it's worth the risk and he is so quiet and still and they just look as if they are falling apart into little pieces in front of your eyes and then he says "I love you, Max" and as he walks away she replies "I love you, too."
9. Qui-Luo/Ling, MARS. He drove her home and the shy, reserved Qui-Luo bursts out passionately with how much she likes Ling. Not understanding why, and not being able to help himself he leans in to kiss her, looking uncharacteristically vulnerable and flustered. It's adorable.
10. Doumyouji Tsukasa/Makino Tsukushi, Hana Yori Dango. Finally, 49 episodes in, when Doumyouji kisses her, Tsukushi's arms go around him as she holds him tightly and her eyes close verrrry slowly, as those two finally get together. And I melt.

Date: 2006-02-21 02:01 am (UTC)-Okay, for the shock value of "OMG, they're kissing!", I agree with you on the Logan/Veronica kiss. It's sweet and unexpected. But I have to say I'm all about the bathroom makeout. That scene was hot.
-I like that Dark Angel moment too, but the kiss I like more is in "Blah blah woof woof" when Logan drops off Max and Zack at his cabin in the woods. He doesn't know if he's ever going to see her again, and then she turns back and kisses him and he says "Just go." I love that.
-I really have to get those Roswell DVDs. From what I remember, the strawberry thing was great, though.
-Ross and Rachel on Friends were sort of my first 'ship, before I knew what 'shipping was, so I have a soft spot for the kiss described in that article as well. (I think it was this article, anyway. I can't find it anymore.)
