1. One of the best things about Yoochun being cast in a drama is that his fangirls are a supremely dedicated bunch and thus you can be sure of a ton of MVs and other things. I mean, someone made a speculative trailer of I Miss You already, splicing Yoochun and Yoon Eun Hye's other dramas:

It's utterly gorgeous. Mmmmm, I am super-excited for this drama - I love the leads and the writer to bits.
2. Speaking of fanworks, I am so lucky with Faith. The ratings for my obsession are mediocre, but the (English-language) fandom seems to have glommed on to it in a huge way. The soompi thread has over 600 pages (!!!!), we have a number of bloggers talking about it, and some very talented people are producing fanfics and vids. Compare it with May Queen, which has almost twice the ratings, yet the blogosphere is pretty dead about. This is all a long intro to a comment that I went hunting for MVs and found some gorgeous ones:
3. Apparently, Kim Bum has been confirmed for That Winter the Wind Blows. Noh Hee Kyung must have really liked him in her previous drama, Padam Padam (he WAS excellent). I've seen some fangirls upset that, once again, it's not the lead, but I really respect his choices - he keeps picking projects by a good writer which entail bouncing off some real heavyweights (in PP, it was Jung Woo Sung and here it will be Jo In Sung). I actually think these are great choices for him.
4. Last but not least, I keep wondering who will be the leading lady in Joo Won's upcoming drama. A lot of the likely candidates are busy. I think it would fun if it was Park Min Young - if I still like her after the horror that was Dr Jin, then clearly she can do no wrong in my eyes.
5. I am currently only following 4 airing kdramas - Five Fingers, Nice Guy, Faith, and Arang and the Magistrate. This is so much easier on my schedule (I dropped The Horse Healer and Oohlala Spouses, at the very least postponed The Great Seer, and I can't say I am watching Glass Mask in any consistent fashion).

Date: 2012-10-13 07:20 am (UTC)Faith & The Great Seer: *off to watch the MV after writing this message*. I read your post about The Great Seer and I just know I'll be left reeling like you were by the change in perspective. I was planning to give it a try by watching episode 1 this morning but now I might change my plans and watch episode 4 of Haven's new season instead. I'm really not a fan of all that you described in your Great Seer post. I'm not as obsessed with Fait as you are but it's still enourmously entertaining for me. I'm afraid TGS will be a snooze-fest in comparison.
That Winter the Wind Blows: Definitely NOT watching that one but I'll follow your posts if you write about it.
Joo Won's upcomming drama: I keep wondering about the leading lady as well. For now, I'm just super relieved that KTH has signed on to do another drama. I have nothing against her but I really couldn't see her and JW having chemistry. When YEH was rumored to have refused Missing You, many hoped she'd take the role. But that's not gonna happen now. The 2 names I've seen floating around are Park Min Young and Park Shin Hye. We'll see. I hope the casting announcement won't be as late in the game as Missing You.
And I'm following the same dramas except for Nice Guy. It's pretty nice because it gives me something to watch all week long without being too heavy on my schedule.

Date: 2012-10-13 01:57 pm (UTC)TWTWB - I'll let you know if it has a happy ending. It actually might as Noh Hee Kyung is not another Lee Kyung Hee of Nice Guy/MISA/etc fame and her dramas end well more often than not (even Padam Padam with supposedly terminal illness and potential death penalty ended well).
Joo Won's drama - I adore Kim Tae Hee but she is much too womanly for him - he can present older than his age but not enough to compensate IMO. Her last two drama costars were Song Seung Heon and Lee Byung Hun for a reason. (I think out of the younger guys, the only one who'd have a prayer pulling off being her costar would be Lee Min Ho but in any event, I am glad it didn't get put to the test). I like both PMY and PSH so I'd be happy if it was either.

I loved Park Shin Hye in Heartstrings (and Tree of Heaven, but that drama would be very much not your thing).

Date: 2012-10-14 04:30 am (UTC)This annoys me so much. Kim Bum is actually doing a great thing for his career. Padam Padam seems like it was the start of him working with very talented writers and talented seniors. These dramas have/will allow him to make connections and grow as an actor. Kim So Eun is doing something similar - taking smaller roles in projects with majorly talented seniors and impressive writers. Seo Woo is doing the same thing with taking on daily dramas/family dramas - full of long time actors/actresses that know the ropes and have pull. You just know all three are strengthening their acting talents while getting great advice about how to manage their careers. Fans may be annoyed or sad that they aren't in the lead roles in big time prime time dramas, but all three are going to have stronger careers because they are taking the time to learn and improve.

Date: 2012-10-14 02:07 pm (UTC)Out of the BOF boys, if we discount KHJ who can't act (but is apparently very good at idol stuff) and poor gangsta Woo Bin who seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth, I always thought that LMH was more of a star and KB more of an actor. (Not that LMH is bad at acting or KB couldn't headline, but that is the vibe they gave me).

Date: 2012-10-14 09:42 pm (UTC)KHJ seems very sweet and I think he's a solid idol; I wish he'd give up acting. Woo Bin, I had to look him up. He's doing well, I think. His group has a new CD coming out soon, he's modeling in Korea, he was in a musical in '10, and he's getting a Masters degree in cultural studies.
I agree about LMH and KB. LMH strikes me as someone who will play a lot of romantic leads in his career. KB strikes me as a more serious actor, whose willing to character roles and secondary roles. I'm not sure how to say it, but LMH seems like someone who will headline a drama once a year and work with many talented ladies. But, KM seems like an actor that would chose carefully and develop his craft a bit more. Both are great, though,
