According to Koala, the latest contenders for the leading lady role in Yoochun's melo 'I Miss You' are Gu Hye Sun and Lee Min Jung.
TPTB must really hate me!
Those are the only two kdrama actresses I cannot stand. I might even be prepared to tolerate Jang Nara more than those two. GHS is the worst kdrama actress I've ever seen - I can deal with wooden but it's hard to ignore when someone on your screen constantly emotes like a chipmunk on speed - I've seen her in Boys Over Flowers, Absolute Boyfriend, The King and I, that ridiculous Eric fusion thing, and she was uniformly unbearable in every single one. To add insult to injury, she has little chemistry with her costars and I don't find her in the least good-looking. UGH. BARF.
Lee Min Jung is objectively pretty (though she makes me think of a borzoi for some reason), and isn't as teeth-grindingly bad as GHS but I just cannot stand her. That started with BOF, where her appearance (and utterly ridiculous amounts of screentime) signified the turning point of when this drama went from awesome to flaming trainwreck. The disaster that was BIG did not help. In general, she just irritates me for some reason. I mean, I even skipped MIDAS with my obsession Jang Hyuk because she was in it.
Basically, either one of them in, I am out. The end.

LMJ, well, I do think she is pretty, but she does have something annoying about her, not sure what is it. Or maybe the character roles she gets are all annoying lol

Makes me think there's a better likely hood they'd go with her. (LMJ is six years older) Of course Yoochun looks a bit older than his age, so that might not matter. I'm not sure which girl I'd rather. I may have to just watch the children/teen parts and than leave. It's just too bad all the actresses in this age range ('82-'90) are all either busy with other projects or on breaks.

I've only ever seen her in BOF but I have such a visceral negative reaction to all things BOF related that few involved have managed to overcome it. Only Lee Min Ho and Kim Bum have done so, so far. Her face just upsets me, lol. It's really terrible of me.

She just hams it up and makes the most dreadful faces. My good friend and I watched "The Musical" for Daniel Choi and Park Ki Woong and it was quite a trial ignoring her.
This casting news is really worrying. I hope they come to their senses and offer the role to a good actress. Yoochun has chemistry with his leading ladies but forcing him to romance Gu Hye Sun is painful to even think about. He'd do better with a pile of laundry as his co-star. Poor Chun. :(
leslielei, above, mentioned Park Shin Hye. She'd be adorable if they allowed her to channel her Cyrano Dating Agency maturity. That's another girl who's very nice when she's left alone and not ordered to be extra cutesy and what not.

It's not her looks (even though I do think she's not v. pretty) it's that she has no acting skills to speak of. Her hair in every drama is basically a shitty variation of the same ugly style I can't stand on any female lead-and she can't pull it off like others. Coincidently that's basically the description of I think almost every role she's played in a drama too. And to add insult, she's the reason I could never suffer through BoF...
And I know she might be talented in other fields but I don't care, I don't like her on my screen.

Ever think that maybe your perception of her is subjective? You might see her as great and feel she has chemistry with her co-stars. But others don't. There's never going to be a clear cut right answer here because there is no rating what people like.
And disliking a person's acting does NOT mean we hate her or are envious/ jealous of her. Everyone has clearly stated that. That's a lot of assumptions to make!
I wish her all the success in the world. Just as long as it's not. on. my. screen.

It's not the age question, really - they can look younger if styled/made up to do so, but somehow I just feel like the chemistry wouldn't be right, especially since I'm not super into Yoochun either.
