Quick thought about ep 13 of Arang and the Magistrate

Proper post with caps etc coming, but I just had to get this out.

I really really loved the way the aftermath of Eun Oh's confession and Arang's denial of her sharing his feelings was handled.

No takebacks! I was terrified that there would be one, and he'd say he didn't mean it (in order to avoid embarrassment or help her or whatever). But there wasn't! It was basically 'this is how I feel, now I know you don't share these feelings, I will do as you wish and just send you to heaven and take care of you, and please do not be concerned.'

And then he went out and bought her shoes.

Oh, Eun Oh.

But then of course his comment to her later that he can bear her not liking him but seeing her notice others (i.e., Joo Wal) is hard to bear. He is so utterly open with her, it kills me.

And then of course all of it building more and more and that outburst at the end where he tells her that he promised to send her to heaven but he can't bear to see her with JW and he keeps thinking he wished he didn't just let her go but tried to convince her and just. But he still doesn't do it - try to push her, I mean...oh, Eun Oh, you kill me.

And every time he says "Arang" in that voice, I just want to melt!!!!

Oh, and also when Jade said EO is reaper's replacement, I really hope he only meant in killing demon mom (though still, that is COLD) and not in becoming a reaper. I want Arang and EO together as humans. Please! Though I guess I don't have to worry about the nightmare scenario of EO having to kill the demon as it posesses Arang because since there is no blood connection between Arang and EO, he wouldn't be able to.

Proper and humonogous post coming, promise.

You know, I can't remember any K-drama hero who did what EO did. It was pretty amazing to see everything out in the open. And it didn't make the tension fizzle out either. It's still cranked to the max.

And the shoes! A powerful gesture and they were so pretty as well. :o)

He is so honest - and really with no role models in his life. I love it. Thi is what a grown up acts like.

I love the shoes because of the symbolism - he IS sending her away. To heaven, like she wants.

seriously, LJK makes it IMPOSSIBLE to look away from his face, I didn't even want to take my eyes off him to look at the subs in this episode. So much raw emotion and laying it all on the line there, EO is prob. 10xmore expressive than most kdrama heroes ever are. And I really like how Shin Min Ah played the whole confession scene, bb girl may think it's time for her to prepare to leave and spare them both the pain of separating after an accepted confession, but too bad for her it doesn't work like that!

And THE SHOES. I've seen exactly ONE drama where one half of a couple gives shoes to another and it turned out well, and that was Goong. Only it was Chae Gyung giving Shin a pair of handpainted-by-her sneakers for a birthday present. Though he did do the whole putting-shoes-on-her thing too.....and those were shoes she was already wearing and just kicked off in a too-enthusiastic dance, instead of the 'him buying them for her' thing.

Ooooh, it worked out in Shut Up Flower Boy Band - she gave him shoes and they ended up together. :)

LJK is amazing. He does so much with just his eyes.

This story is so tragic! Everybody wants to be or th have something impossible...

The Mumster wants eternal life.
The Old Killer wants to stay the one and only for Mumster.
The Young Killer (I feel so sorry for him!) wants to have a normal life.

Dol Se wants Eun Oh for himself.
The mudang wants to be a real mudang.
Eun Oh wants his mum and Arang.
Arang wants to die but she also wants Eunh Oh!!!

As the Grim reaper said it is the fate of human being to always want something... and when they get it, to want something else... So true!
