Yeah, yeah, plots and poisonings (who knew King's annoying uncle read Queen Margot) but whatever! Shippy heaven!
What struck me in this episode is how compatible but also comfortable Eun Soo and CY are with each other. Witness him here, at yet another one of his nadirs - accused of corruption, doing the usual CY thing and hiding in sleep. And ES intruding his space matter-of-factly, ordering him to show his wrist (for healing) and have you noticed he doesn't even fight it any more - he just complies with her caring and all that touching! Good boy, you know when things are good for you! And what kills me is how intensely he listens to her talk of deciphering the journal because it is so crucial to him - her happiness in going back yet his loss in her doing so - every little thing she says is so intensely received (and he sneaks looks and looks away when she notices). And they both learn and share - now, as per partnership, she tells him about King's Uncle (whose name I refuse to learn as a form of protest) and his visit (and he visited because of CY and you see CY's look). And then the thing with the bottle of aspirin and her flower and her finding it and his appalled look and biting his lip and trying to extricate himself through manfulness when she teases. I love them! Have you noticed how it took his mind off his troubles? But what caps it all off is when she tells him how he is perceived in 'heaven' - as a righteous person who people would laugh if someone suggested he took a bribe, that there is even a song about him and his father's righteous last words. And you see CY's whole being shift at that - through that, ES manages to restore to him his honor and his faith. It's amazing.
Gi Chul trying to get new ministers (who all annoy the hell out of me - pretty much everyone in this drama that isn't CY, ES, Gongmin, Nogook, the aunt, the suribang, Jang Bin, and some of the woodalchi should perish in a giant fire) to switch out kings. The thing I find interesting is that Evil Uncle, who he brought as a pawn, might actually outsmart him. I hope they kill each other and spare anyone else the trouble.
I love that ES tells the ministers to jump off a cliff when they want to know the future but even more I love that CY picks her over Gongmin! (Well, his going away helps Gongmin too, but it's clear ES is his priority) - they are running away! Together! To protect her! OMFG ILY drama!
ES bidding farewell to Nogook. Nogook's little pleased face when ES tells her that no royal couple yearned for and loved each other as much as Gongmin and her. And that hug! But of course ES can't tell Nogook the tragic end to the great love story, can she? Nogook's "but that is why I will never leave him" breaks my heart.
Gongmin going to bat for Choi Young with that annoying slimy minister. Now sock him! In the jaw! With your royal fist!
CY confesses to malfeasance (despite Gongmin's willingness to fight for him). It's a lie, of course, but it protects Gongmin from the charge that he is controlled by CY and it frees him to protect ES. Oh, CY. That little smile guts me.
I love that Jang Bin is all "he's been sentenced and put in jail, he won't be able to get you" and Eun Soo insists that she believes - if CY said he will be there, he will. Oh, my darlings!
Ummm, they clearly did it, PJs and all. ILY, secondary OTP!

Because she hears someone and goes for her dagger and he is there and is all 'you are too slow with the dagger' and tells he he was going to look for her in the infirmary but he doesn't get anything else out because she, with her shining face, utterly heedless, just runs into his arms and holds on for dear life. And his faaaaace! His faaace! And then very slowly, very tentatively (I was screaming 'hug her! So help me, if you don't, I'll crawl into the screen and strangle you!') his arms go around her and he holds her hair and strokes it and ---- dying here. Guys. Dying.
They are on the run and are still bickering and teasing and my favorite part is when she is all 'maybe I should go back to Gi Chul, he fed me well and gave me clothes' and he gives her this look I can't even describe and she laughs and tells him 'here is where you are supposed to laugh' and he is all 'it's not funny' and I don't know why it cracks me up, but it does to bits - our deadpan general and funny doctor.
Can we declare them officially married? Because I bet even Suribang thinks they are! Our formal stand-offish general just grabs her soup and finishes it (and she keeps eying him for it and makes snarky comments about his eating all her food and his face, he is so embarassed and didn't even notice and the fact that he didn't until she snarked, is huge). And they are going to share a room! And there is grinning! And she says she'll stay if there is food and he promises her a ton. LOLOLOLOL so married!
Dammit, don't withdraw, touch her hair! Methinks our general has a hair fetish! :)
Is it hot here, or is it just me? They are so aware of each other. I mean, she's just out of the bath and we know people bathe naked and you can save water if you bathe together and grrrrrrr, mind, out of the gutter! But seriously, their chemistry is off the wall.
My favorite scene! First of all, he freaking traces the outline of her face on the window! I mean!!!!!! No words askskfdlgjfkjggkj I have no idea how to describe when I saw that and his yearning and just - OK, imagine I am a screaming monkey. That might approximate about half my reaction. And also, why are they so goddamn beautiful together and separate - separate by that nebulous, literally paper barrier, but more so but perceived lack of future. Which is ironic, because this scene actually gave me a glimmer of a hope for the two of them ending together, in Goryo. Because when she asked him if he'll be OK when she leaves and he admitted he won't be OK - omfg, she knows now, there is nowhere to hide behind. The truth is out. Her face - it's pensive and understanding the enormity of it but also pleased because she feels the same, despite the pain. And when she admitted that she will miss everyone (and than added, extra-softly "and you") - once again, if she will miss this and knows her leaving will destroy him, than even if she leaves, she will come back, I am sure of it (I need to be sure of it). And the fact that he admitted it, so simply, this immensely closed-off man. But not as huge as when she asks him if there is anything he wants to know about her and he just says that he already knows too much (i.e., too much to be able to want to let her go) - just! And the fact that during this conversation he is guarding her room - it's like every kink in the Universe I had collided. Did I mention that during this entire scene I kept chanting "go in and make time-paradox babies NOWWWW!" But sadly, they weren't listening to me.
One problem. Evil Uncle poisoned the pages ES was using so CY hears her moan and bursts in to see her deathly ill. The touching, the dropping of the sword, calling her, holding, the worry! I just hope Evil Uncle isn't too fond of his limbs, because I think he's about to be missing some.

And then apprehension and disappointment mixed in together when he was asking the time and date. And then slight relief when she said it might not be that at all... You can see him warring with himself. A part of him wants her to stay, to keep her with him but he knows she belongs in heaven. And despite his feelings for her, he's still the honorable man. He'll still risk everything to bring her back to her world. :( And the way he's staring at her, devouring her, taking her in. It's like he knows there isn't much time left.

Yes. I really want him to throw honor to the winds and beg her to stay, but then he wouldn't be the man we know and love. It will be up to her to pick to stay, otherwise he wouldn't be able to deal with his guilt.

Ditto. Dying with you. I'm glad that they didn't make CY just stand there. Coz he has savor every moment with her! I love that he strokes her hair. He strooookes it. I don't want to say how many time's I've rewatched this episode. This scene reminded me of the time he went to KC's place to take her away. When she saw him standing there and softly whispered, "Psycho." Ahhhh. It's like this time there's no stopping the feelings. Coz everything has changed between them. Wah.

Okay, I went into perv mode for a minute when ES was moaning and gasping inside. I'm like, CY, aren't you supposed to be inside? But OMG when he literally threw away his sword to hold her. Dead. Dead. Dead. A warrior's sword is supposed to be the most important thing to them, right? They need it to stay alive. But here, OMG. He needs ES most. And I'm sticking with that.
I really hope ES is okay. I'm afraid for next week. I want the rest of the episodes naw.

Eun Soo's eyes fluttered open; a small languid smile touching her lips. Young's arms were wrapped around her from behind, his face buried into her hair. She breathed in, contentment seeping through every fiber of her being.
She looked down at his arms. Her fingers found their way; delicately tracing his skin. She carefully lifted his right hand that had been loosely gripping her waist. Looking up at it, she gently placed her left hand against it, palm to palm, and started tracing the lines and scars. A roughened hand that could be so tender... Her fingers slid further down and stopped at his wrist, feeling his pulse point. She closed her eyes slowly, another smile blooming on her lips.
Her smile widened slightly and his deep voice whispered, "Why do you do that?"
She untangled herself from his embrace and he grudgingly let go. Hugging the sheets to her, she lay on her stomach and looked at him. Taking his hand, she found his pulse point again. The smile still on her lips. His eyes took all of her in as he waited for her answer.
"Jang Bin once taught me about the different kinds of pulses," she finally answered, a wistful look fleetingly appearing on her expressive face. He lifted his left hand, fingertips touching her cheek. Her eyes softened at him. She continued. "He said there are twenty-four kinds. Each one a different feeling. Had a hard time learning about them at first, but I got it. Painfully slow though."
She gave a grin and as always, he can't help but smile back. His hand went from her cheek to her bare shoulder; his thumb rubbing small circles on her skin.
"The thing is, feeling yours... I was always able to get it. Every nuance, every subtle change. And I don't know, it's like, I can feel it. Feel you..." She met his intent gaze. "I can feel your heart."
A playful smirk from him. "Isn't that the point?"
Eun Soo narrowed her eyes and pretended to want to bite his hand; his gaze slowly growing intense.
"You know what I mean." Her gaze returned to his pulse point once more. "It's why I can't help doing this. Because of how it makes me feel... Like you’re calling to me... I've never felt this with anyone... And I just know it's only for me, isn't it?"
She then chuckled. "I'm being weird, huh?"
"You have always been pretty strange," Young said with a boyish grin.
She gave his forehead a light slap. He laughed with his mouth closed at the cute pout on her lips. His eyes turned serious as he gazed at her face. She had her eyes closed again, reveling in something only she seems to know.
"I think I know what you mean."
"You're just humoring me, aren't you?" She asked, her eyes still closed. A smile in her voice.
"I think I know my own heart."
Her eyes opened and she turned her head to him. "You're being weird."
They shared a laugh. His faded away as her finger traced a vein on his wrist. She lifted his hand up from where it lay on her pillow and tenderly pressed her lips on his pulse. And he knows she can feel how it's spiraling out of control right now.
Because it's her.

"How about I show you?"
"Please..." His voice now raw with emotion. His eyes hungry and pleading for her.
The side of her lips lifted as she pressed another kiss. Her eyes never leaving his. And he sat up, devouring every moment as she left soft, open-mouthed kisses all the way up his arm and onto his chest. Lingering on his heart and then moving up his neck as she climbed on top of him, straddling his hips.
Their lips finally meet.
Kissing long and slow and deep.
Kissing for an eternity.
And eternity still isn't enough.
"Can you feel it? Can you feel me...?" She asked, breath against his lips; running her fingers through his hair as he murmured her name huskily.
"Always..." He looked up at her, his right hand sliding up her back to her nape, fingers tangling in her hair. "Always..."

Having full faith in someone else is not easy, but every character in this drama planted their faith into one another, perfectly. Love the theme of this show, makes it so beautiful. ES-CY, CY-GM, NG-GM, all these relationships, i can't keep sane thinking about them.
Firstly, the couple is seriously tooooo compatible to be true. How many cute moments did we have in ep 14!? I WANT MORE THOUGH.
Especially loved the scene where she was looking at him eating up her food and then he later looks at her and asks if she's okay with hiding, and the way they faced each other symmetrically GOODNESS, NEVER DID A COUPLE LOOK THIS CUTE IN A SAGEUK! (okay maybe a couple did but my brain only has this otp atm)
And when Young said he won't be okay, Eunsoo actually was relieved, because as much as she wouldn't want Young to hurt missing her,.... as a person in love, she couldn't hide her content.... that he would miss her. Because it always feels right when the person you miss (even when his just a door away, yes they are definitely missing each other when they were talking as well), or will miss, has the exact same emotion like you do. *SQUEEEEE*
I know right! i actually think we might get a happy end now. Shows wouldn't give us lines like this if it doesn't. Remember earlier when she asked him to go to her world, with her, it seemed rather impactful, as if it might be where the show will head. But maybe not that he'll go with her, rather... Well, if he can't go with her, she will stay with him. Who knows we'll get a Gong ending, like QC staying with 8th until his end (almost).

Other parts of the ep, like when Eunsoo tells Noguk about how no King and Queen loved like they did… *sobs* And how Noguk told her she’ll never leave him. *CRIES EVEN MORE* Eunsoo knows Noguk will leave him early, but she’s helpless… And all she could was to reassure Noguk… As much as it hurts watching Noguk, who is clueless about how horrible fate could be, it hurts me even more as I watch Eunsoo, because she knows the fate of everyone, but she’s helpless. Despite her trying to reduce, for example, Noguk’s future pain, she knows it probably won’t make any difference.
And gosh, at the King’s interrogation scene, when Young goes… it pains me to trouble his majesty… *sobs* Ryu Deok Hwan needs an award for this role. He really deserves it. Gongmin’s emotions are all clearly reflected in his eyes. No matter how angry he was, and insecure about what Young was going to do, when he saw Young telling him with that expression that he’s fine, and he wants it like this… Even though GM did not understand why, he did it the way Young wanted it, without any doubt… Not from a King to his Warrior, but from a man to his friend.

Plus, what else would she need this notebook for (which she presumably compiled in the future) but to return to find him...
