Faith - episode 6

This drama - it owns me so so much on every level, from smart to colorful to deliciously shoujo romantic!
Every scene with the King and the Queen is amazing - it bristles with so many emotions. I especially love the way he got so moved and even discombobulated by her crying because it was just so out of the realm of his imagination that she could care. Oh, idiots, you could be so happy together if you let go of insecurities and pride.

This whole sequence! The way he drinks the wine before she does, to test for poison (and her face and his reply that she is a doctor so she can cure him if he got poisoned) and his grin at her irrepressible Eun Soo-ishness (our general is pretty melted by now, isn't he?) and the way the modern Eun Soo reacts to all the wuxia insanity before her, the way he tries to stop her drinking, and just the chemistry and sync and everything. I love them so much!!!

Bwahaha, he tells her she has to ride a horse. Good luck :)

The way she teases him about his love confession and he tries to explain but cannot, and is all bashful. And the way she playfully punches him and he touches the spot! And the way he grabs her to tell her not to sneak up on someone carrying a sword, and the way she is gleeing he's younger than her, and the way he growls at his flunkie why he had to bring her out of all the doctors in heaven. I ship them so so much. The thing is, around her, he actually lives and doesn't just exist.

The King trying to rescue the Queen. I love!

Some more ridiculous cuteness. I love it when he tells her not to keep asking why and of course, the first question out of her mouth is 'why?'

Pretty!

Gosh, they are so stubborn, while worried sick about each other!

The horse-riding scene! I love how quietly amused he is. I also love when he puts her on a horse and his hand is under her feet (I don't have that shot, but it made my inner shoujo lover swoon). Oh, and she asked him to take her to the portal and he didn't grab her or anything - he actually told her she needs to learn how to ride whether she goes to heal the kid or run away from him to a portal. He is so human with her.

And then she has to go to sleep right next to him for protection. I love their little conversation (he doesn't even know her full name until this moment) and the look on his face when she blabs that of coruse he won't be married as to who wants to marry a man who kills someone every day.

The scene with the fire lady. I loved how he was being so smart and the dark chemistry was - I could watch those two spar and her try to seduce him and him throw it back, all day. I love it when fire lady wonders how ES trusts him so much as to fall asleep by him. If I had sexy Lee Min Ho there, I wouldn't be sleeping either, fire lady!

Oh no, the plan now makes sense! Ki Chul is trying to convince the King that Choi Young is trying to restore the previous King - that is what his planning was about.

Oh God, cutest thing ever! Though it kills me how CY's smile falters when he sees the bare surroundings the former king lives in.

They are so good with this very ill yet loving child - I know I am jumping way ahead of anything, but they would make amazing parents. But also, to treat this kid, they need to be in a modern hospital or, at least, the royal hospital, and for the kid to step foot outside or helping the kid to do so is treason. I love how CY distracts the boy with tales of the heavens - he has so much capacity for love, however he tries to drown it. And he goes to leave to get permission to bring the kid in while she stays to take care of the kid. I love the two of them, working like a team, so compatible in crisis and in little things.

Only to discover that the bad guys tracked them down. He goes back in to rescue ES and the boy (I love it when he tells her to stay close to him so he can protect her and the way he cuts through the baddies like a machine) but it turns out they were framed as if they are involved in rebellion and taking the old king out (bad guys' flunkies kill the guards for them, now). KC is leaving Choi Young no choice now but to join his side because his plan to make Gongmin believe CY is a traitor is working perfectly. I only hope Gongmin can see through it.

I just like this shot.

The preview! OMG! Especially when he does relax enough to sleep on her - she is guarding him now, after all the times he's guarded her. And when she asks him to go to the future with her, where he won't have to kill any longer. OMG. I need this!

Date: 2012-08-31 12:39 am (UTC)The only complaint I have with the drama is that Lee Min Ho just comes off as too pretty to be a seasoned warrior, not that he can help it, but I wish they sort of messed up his hair or made him look more rugged or something. His character needs to be really manly and rugged, they just have him looking too clean..or something. I don't know if you know what I'm talking about... Besides that I think he is doing a really good job. She is too, when I saw the trailer for the show, I was worried she was going to be annoying but she comes off as funny and goofy and sweet- I love that.
By the way I had to ask you if you've been keeping up with Rich Man, Poor Woman. I just saw episode 8 the other day and the end of the episode is so incredibly good and shippy and perfect. I was seriously squealing and awwing like a mad woman and I must have replayed that ending 20 times. You have to check it out if you haven't yet!! Plus the preview kills me!

Date: 2012-08-31 02:01 pm (UTC)I think LMH looks like a wuxia hero (this drama is totally a wuxia in disguise) and they aren't usually grimy. Though grime means bath so hmmmm....
Yes, ES is adorable.
I am way behind on RMPW.

Date: 2012-08-31 01:59 pm (UTC)I can't tell if with is better than hanrel - I have used with for cable shows before but for network ones I tend to go hanrel as I don't have to resync the subs. I think taple is probably my favorite for visual quality, actually, but I don't think this drama has it.

Date: 2012-08-31 07:04 am (UTC)CY was so warm and caring with the kid that used to be a king. You're right, ES & CY would make great parents. His icy armour is definitely crumbling by now.
The king & the queen really need to communicate and let go of their pride and misapprehensions of each others' feelings.

Date: 2012-09-01 11:29 am (UTC)I can watch them bicker all day long. And that cap with ES stuffing her face with mandoo and CY still sulking about his luck shows their current dynamic in a nutshell. I love that he's feeding her coz it's one of ES constant complaints. She even complains KC didn't give her any breakfast. Lol. And the horseriding portion. Just love.
The way he mouthed her name. Hey, Psycho. Good night. Aaaw. It's weird that I really find it so sweet that she calls him Psycho. Lol. And he already knows it's him! Hehe.
Don't they look just like a little family? ES and the little king waving goodbye. And CY smiling. It's so sweet with just a touch of sadness. I hope the little king gets well.
I love that ES really trusts CY.
Why is KC holding ES?? And CY leaning on her shoulder. Hee.
Is it Monday yet?

Date: 2012-09-02 02:29 am (UTC)I am also wondering why KC is holding ES. It must be a game changer for him, realizing she's from 'heaven.'
I love that CY is comfortable enough with ES and relaxed enough with her to fall asleep on her shoulder. Reminds me a bit of The Princess' Man.
I hope the King gets well too!
The way he totally responds to her calling him psycho. Awwwww.
The horse thing made me LOL. You know you want to, CY!
