From the awesome blog joonni.com:
I mean, I love the concept. He’s a Goryeo warrior. She’s a 21st century plastic surgeon. He wants to die. She wants to live. They’re both trapped, Young inside the palace and Eun-soo in Goryeo. Young is going to find a reason to live and be a warrior, not because of a sacrifice and oath, but because he chooses to fight. And Eun-soo is going to learn there is more to life than big salaries and spacious apartments. He’s going to save her; she’s going to save him. They’re going to fall in love, but 660 years divide them. Will their love defy space and time?
This.
(Pls pls don't spoil me for eps 5/6 as I haven't seen them yet due to travel).
In other news, I caught up with eps 3/4 of May Queen and continue to like it immensely. It's very solid.

Date: 2012-08-28 06:13 am (UTC)So I finally got to sit down and watch the first four episodes and I'm relieved to say that I like it. It doesn't have the lush feel of an epic that I was expecting but it does have a cdrama feel to it that I can appreciate. It sort of reminds me of Vigilantes in Masks a little bit.
My only quibble so far is that the cinematography is a bit lacking for a fantasy. I mean, it's not terrible, far from it, but at times there's a certain lackluster quality to how it's filmed. But like I said, it's not terrible and that can be easily overlooked.
I see why some people might not find it to be their thing because it's not really a traditional sageuk but I like that it has this sort of wuxia vibe to it with all the fantasy elements.

Date: 2012-08-28 04:48 pm (UTC)As soon as I started watching the first episode, I was like, "OMG! It's a wuxia!" And it's probably one of the reasons, like you, that I like it.
You know I've never seen Legend. I probably should, huh? Heh. I always forget about it.
