Oh my God, you guys! You know how I said that through the first 3 episodes of Arang I felt nothing. Well, it's episode four and the switch has finally flipped and I am in love and invested and desperately caring for both Arang and her Magistrate.

Eeee! Just what I need, another obsession. But the drama got more serious and characters more invested and vulnerable and now I am like a fish on a hook. I need more!!!

Episode 4 was so very veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery good!

I still can't shake off the feeling that Shin Mina should have picked a different project. I look at Arang and all I see is Min Ho!

There are worse ways to be typecast :)

Even though I love her and I think she's a good actress (B rate)... I don't think she's good enough to play similar characters in a different way. She's acting exactly as she did in MGIAG.

For example... Lee Seung Gi has played similar characters (douchebag who becomes hero) but always in different ways. You'd never confuse them.

Am I thinking too much? :P

Re: Episode 4. The "Heaven" sequence in this episode was AMAZING. And I love the bickering between the two Gods.

I think she always plays a sad yet upbeat free spirit that is very odd - even in ALTK. I think she's good at one thing and sticks to it.

Thanks for pointing this out. I thought I am the only who keeps being reminded by Gumiho when I see her in this. Her mannerism is exactly the same. And this drama also almost feels like an updated and improved version of Gumiho. With more mysteries. the same question of whether they'll be together in the end, and the 'one live another die' trope. I adore the Gumiho drama, and its still vivid in my memories, so this kinda messing with my mind. Will try to watch it again some other day maybe. But now I just skim through the recaps. I stopped watching in the middle of Episode 1.

Shin Min Ah really fits this role, like she did for Gumiho. But as you said, she plays it the same way.

What did it? EP4 was so so for me.

A combination of creativity of heaven/hell/afterworld scenes and LJK's quiet grief after Arang disappears and his joy when she appears alive. I think I like SMA's Arang best in small dozes - she is a ghost take on manic pixie dream girl and a little of that goes a loooong way.

The preview for next week has me freaking out! And I'm convinced the woman in that room is Eun Oh's mother. Possibly just a body possessed, though if she's something "different" that could explain why he can see ghosts - like Arang still can, too.

People said the actress was miscast for being EO's mother but maybe not. I also think she is the woman locked in that room.

If she is evil she totally fits the role, I hated her so much on Can you hear my heart.

Now I'm wondering if she is some kind of evil creature with a smidge of familial decency and she sent Eun Oh away to save his life? And acquired Joo Wol as a minion instead or something.

That would explain why he can see ghosts, which is a pretty odd skill.

Who was she on Heart?

Yeah, that would be a neat twist.

She was the good for nothing mother of Nam Gong Min's character.

Oh, how I hated her character too..

It got past the weird plot setup of -how is a human falling in love with a ghost work?- angle!

But seriously, the crazy fantasy elements are amazing.
And just an educated guess, and other people are probably thinking it as well, but I totally believe that JooWal killed her-or at least stabbed her before she ran off- and his father knows about it.

I actually have a feeling that Eun Oh's mother had more to do with Arang's death than anyone else; maybe she didn't do the actual killing but was the main catalyst for whatever reason. Or was at least working together with one of the two.

I was connecting Aarang's supposed stab wound- we haven't actually seen it yet- to JooWal going momentarily crazy in ep2 and pulling out that dagger on the giseng. But the mother connection is suspicious too.

Yes, this. There has to be a reason she had the hairpin.

Yes, I think both JW and EO's mom were involved somehow.

i'm your opposite, lmao. i was besotted eps 1-3, but i'm actually super put out by the fact that she's a human now? already? even if it's only temporary. i was having such a ball with the ghost-human antics.

I think it was creative but I don't think they could have strung it out for 24 eps. Plus, this way she gets to interact with everyone.

This drame is so mizzzzterioooosssss and fun at the same time!
Also it really feel like we are in another dimension, fairytale like.
Actually each main character hes its own mysterious past to uncover, this is really nice!
